Rated 1 out of 5 Worthless piece of junk Takes 3 C batteries not AA's. No instructions. Nearly imposible to install the batteries. For a lamp with 7 leds it puts out less light than a 20 watt bulb. Ridiculous! Stay away from Mainstay products! 11/14/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Amandam522 Not bright at all, not what it appears, returned At the time I bought this online for site to store delivery, the description said 3 AAA batteries. Nope. Three C's. And it could barely light up. Not to mention after you get the 3 C batteries in there you are lucky if you can fit one pencil in either cup. What a waste. Thank goodness I could return it. 10/29/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by kirads09 Junk - not worth even the low price. The description needs to indicate that it takes 3 C batteries, not other size. Also there needs to be some directions of how to put them in the weird little battery compartment. That won't matter for me. Mine arrived today - and one of the little battery terminals was broken off because they are just glued (?) on. Very poorly made.It is not very attractive either. I may just eat the cost and trash it. Hardly worth the gas and effort to go return it. 12/19/2012
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Bostonian73 Only One We Could Find We needed a battery operated table lamp and this was the ONLY one we could find. I do not think it would function well as a clamp light as shown in one of the pictures. The base is very heavy (containing the batteries). Opening the battery compartment is a challenge and there are no directions on whether it twists or pops off. Also you have to have the lamp pushed all the way down into the base to get it to work. It's not all that bright but works for what we need it for. We just don't understand why it's so difficult to find a battery operated table lamp! Ugghhh... 02/24/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by DaytonaDon liked the design...that's it The design was perfect for my application but the product itself was too fragile for what I needed. The base itself was poorly designed and broke easily. Try making the base less confusing and stronger. Too bad. 12/16/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by BuckarooGal Cool little lamp.... just be patient I was almost scared away by the other reviews. Some of what they said is true but, once you get the hang of how it works, it's not so bad.The battery compartment is held to the base by a strong magnet. Just pull it off the base, and you'll find the opening for the battery compartment. Look at the little arrows to see which way to twist the battery cover on and off. One of the little battery terminals seemed like it might be loose so, I put a dab of glue on it.The magnet is strong enough to hold the lamp (and batteries). The clip will be strong enough as long as you're clamping it to something that has a little bit of a lip on it so it can grab. The amount of light isn't tremendous (I agree with the person who said it's about that of a 20 watt bulb). Considering it's only 3 C batteries, I wasn't expecting all that much. It's more light than my little head-lamp, and covers a greater area. Time will tell how durable it is...... and how long the batteries will last.My purpose is to use it in a booth at a trade show to display jewelry. It will be nice to not worry about finding an outlet and running extension cords everywhere.I say, give it a try but, know it will take a little experimenting the first time you open/close the battery compartment. 11/12/2013
