halogen light seems to be yellow but is white in reality.

Light emitted from this lamp is what I call "True Light", because when I crochet, the different thread colors are true to life.

Very little heat. In fact, you can touch the lamp shade (not the bulb of course) after hours of being in use and it is only slightly warm!

It gets slightly hot, but not enough to be an engineering problem. Vents in the top allow circulation. Tilting it at 45 degrees or more could make it hotter. I keep mine straight up and down to make sure warm air can escape the lamp shade.

This lamp doesn't get hot like that.We use to have one that did.This one is great.

don't buy this lamp. u can make your eggs over easy while under it. very disappointed. the bulb last just one day. hoax!

Using the lower level of light, you have to hold your hand directly under the bulb to feel any warmth emitting from this lamp. The higher level emits some heat--but you certainly won't need a fan to cool it. It's only 35 watts, but emits plenty light.

You will NOT need to run a fan...lol..it's hot but it won't burn you,unless you hold the head part too long. There's a metal tip on the head part to move it around. See my review on the site. I like this lamp & plan to buy 3 more.

The bulb is halogen and gets quite hot. The instructions warn against touching it, owing to the high heat. Still, it is only 35 watts and the heat does not affect the room significantly where I use it.

How hot does this lamp get? The one I have currently on my office desk emits ALOT of heat, which means I also have to run a small fan, wasting power.

Yes it's bendable. Plus it has a metal hanger attached to the shade to move it up & down.

The gooseneck?

The part from the base to the light is bendable, but the little handle on the lamp/head part is removable.

Yes it is bendable and the metal tip handle is to manuever it around the top head part because it is hot. See my review on the site. I like this lamp and plan to buy 3 more.

My wife was having a hard time while sewing with her new sewing machine because the built in lite was not bright enough. I purchased this lamp on the Walmart site and it does an excellent job providing bright lite where it's needed do to it's goose neck and for under $10.00 bucks it's built well and looks good, The on off thumb switch on the AC cord is not an issue with me because it's only put into service when direct bright lite is needed while sewing or if I'm working on a project and need more light. For the price you can't go wrong.

Perfect For My Needs

My former lamp was irreparable and I needed to have a light by my laptop...I checked on a number of sites and found each offer to be expensive and certainly not worth the money. I am absolutely thrilled with this lamp and I am very thankful to Walmart for their assistance in getting it shipped to me in record time...It works very well and a bonus is the secondary lighting that comes off the inner bulb...

A real worth it and I will recommend it to all that needs a small table lamp

This works great for heating up areas of pets too!
I use it to give warmth to my African Dwarf Frogs because my apartment is cold.
If you copy me make sure you do not put the lamp head too close to your pet's tank(s).

Just an idea but overall the lighting of this lamp is Great!

Great Product, Great Price.

I had one, but gave it to a friend so she could see her piano music better. I missed it so much that I ordered two more ---one for my sewing room and one for my computer desk. The bright light and flexible gooseneck make this lamp perfect for these chores.

I owned one, and bought 2more.

My new halogen desk lamp is just what I needed. Now I can work at my computer without
having to turn on the overhead lights in my room. I am using much less electricity than
before I purchased this desk lamp. It came fully assembled. All I had to do is decide where I
wanted to set it up and plug it in. The quality of the lamp is apparent in its construction. The
black color matches all of my computer hardware, too. I am a very satisfied customer.

Just What I Needed

I needed a small lamp to sit on my computer desk. This one is perfect. It doesn't take up a lot of room and it can be set to shine wherever you want it. It's bright but doesn't glare in your face because the light shines down and not out. I'm very satisfied with it.

I just picked these up today because I needed lamps for my photo box. Upon opening them I was impressed with their appearance for the price paid. I plugged them in & there is two settings and the light it gave out on both settings was very nice & bright. For what I need these lamps for I didn't need anything fancy because when not in use they are stored, so these were perfect for me. The only thing that I noticed that may be a problem is that they are a little top heavy, you can not have the neck all the way up without the base lifting a bit. This may be a problem for me because my photo box is a little high. Overall, great product & value.

I had a lamp for my desk the last 10 years which I loved because it was small and versatile with a flexible neck but gave off a great deal of light which was perfect for late night writing on my computer. For some reason, the lamp stop working. After trying to fix it to no avail and finding out that particular model lamp was no longer manufactured, I stumbled across this lamp on the Walmart site.I thought it might be a bit too large for the space I wanted to fit in, but took a chance and purchased it. I got the lamp and took it out to find that it fit perfectly into the space. And was pleasantly surprised at the weight of the lamp and the feel. It seems to be well constructed and not at all cheap in appearance or design. Additionally, it has a higher wattage halogen light bulb than my old lamp which gives a larger cone of light across my desk. The only drawback so far is that the switch to turn the light on is located in the power cord rather than on the base of the lamp as it was on my old lamp. So I have to fumble a bit behind the desk to grab the cord to turn the light on and off. A small price to pay for very decent lamp at an excellent price.

a great lamp for the price.

I recieved this item from a local Walmart store using the Site-to-Store feature on the internet. I discovered that a part was not sitting even where the bulb goes. That was easy enought to snap back into place.
I had purchased a similar one about 1.5 years ago that had a low and a high setting for the lamp. I was hoping to find that same one, but this one will do for now.
Halogen is as close as I can find to natural light as I can find. I'm glad that they still make these lamps.

Minor repair

I ordered one online and get a defective one; i went to store for exchange, and when i open the box , this second one is also defective. I am just too tired to come for another exchange now....
