I went from a Bemis that was made of wood.....!!! Total garbage....Wood is heavy its old school & costly but has serious issues.....!!
I could have installed this standing on my head......Very easy......Plastic is easily cleanable....Looks awesome......& I am extremely pleased w/ my purchase......!! For $13.48 its so right & great....!! I would turn down a $75 Bemis for this.....!! Yeah!!

Wood toilet seats harbor germs, they stain and eventually the paint wears off....I'm switching to plastic....this seat is a little shorter than my last one but its no big deal...thats just the way they are made...easy to install...it's not a thick plastic but its fine for me...you can't beat the price...I checked other stores, they sell similar ones for a lot more money....I mean it's only a toilet seat, how much do you want to pay? ..Walmart still beats all the other stores

I bought the Mainstays Elongated Plastic Toilet Seat to replace a cheap wooden one that was splintering and breaking. Once installed, I saw immediately that it did not cover the entire rim of the toilet bowl by about a half inch. And, it is very short. The little pieces underneath the toilet seat that keep it lifted off the toilet rim are very short in height. I could tell a difference as soon as I sat on the seat. My advice would be to measure your existing toilet seat before replacing. After finding our old one online, I found out we need a 19 inch elongated toilet seat. So, this one will be going back. Even if it did fit the entire area, I am disappointed that it sits so close to the rim. But on a positive note, it is comfortable. I bought another brand name plastic one to replace it and that one was very uncomfortable to sit on so back it went, too. I would keep this one because of the comfort if it covered the rim.

Does Not Cover Entire Rim of Toilet

I am going to return this because it doesn't fit the toilet which is an American Standard. The package says where to measure the toilet which I did but their seat is shorter than the 18.5" stated on the package. I've been buying my toilet seats at Walmart for 20 years and will not do it again.

Seat is too short

Right when I opened that package one of the standoffs fell off . So said to my self no big deal put some glue on it and were good. after a day in use noticed sawdust and the hinge. Turns out the screws were falling out. My guess I should of taken it back right from the start. Only $ 15.00 but still its not good. Caution if the screws fall out the seat could slip off the base and you could fall off.

Bought this to replace a plastic seat I bought from Walmart some years ago. Never thought to read the reviews since Walmart quality has always been suitable for our needs. What a big mistake! Installing the seat was easy. I was a little apprehensive with the small plastic bolts that hold the seat on the toilet but I proceed with the installation. Looked good when I finished. Closed the lid and put my hand on the lid as I stood up. The top is so flimsy it gave way as I stood up. The lid dips inwards with the slightest pressure. Don't sit on the closed lid, I'm sure I'll have to replace it within the next few months. Very disappointed in the quality and construction. This product should not be on the shelves. I've been a loyal customer for many, many years but I'm finding the quality of their products are declining and the prices are not always competitive.

The seat is very thin almost touching the toilet bowl not much separation.

The package shows in a picture diagram that it is 18 1/2 inches long. When we put it on the toilet, it was too small. Then we looked at the bottom of the package and it says 17 12/ inches, which is what it actually is. Had to return it, hassle, not pleased.
