Height is non-standard - Too high for normal chair I really like the look of this desk and wanted something different.The quality and look is great however when finished the desk height is much higher than a standard desk.When sitting I have to set my chair as high as it will go and even then my forearms are slightly raised to reach my laptop keyboard. 07/21/2011
Good buy... not great. Pro's about this desk:Desk was a complete bargain, for $100 you get more than you pay for.Desk is easy to assemble, instruction are very clear, few tools needed.Desk has an appealing design.Desk is built from solid wood product. Top weights about 30lbs, and each side weighs about 20lbs.-Picture might look like plastic, but it is black coated wood.Desk is very spacious, has solid shelves.Con's about this desk:Surface is easy to scratch or easy to nic.After assembling desk stands a bit tall, requires chair to be lifted all the way. 08/08/2011
LOVE this desk! I bought two of these desks in the natural wood finish and arranged them in an L-shape for a desk for my son and I. I absolutely LOVE these desks and have received TONS of compliments from everyone that has seen them (and a few that went and bought themselves one). I do want to mention a few things.- Yes the desk is a bit higher than normal desks. You will not be able to use a normal table chair - you will need a computer chair that has an adjustable height (and that needs to be on the highest setting).- When assembling the desk you will be asked to build the side shelves first. When you do this it will seem VERY unstable and you will be mentally yelling at yourself for buying this piece of junk. The screws used the build the shelves don't seem to secure anything. Don't get discouraged! Once it is fully assembled it is quite sturdy. I was able to move the desks by myself without any problem. I have printers and heavy items on the shelves and there is no wobbling.-The most important thing is when you remove the stickers (marking the pieces) be very careful and slow. I tried to quickly remove the first one I came across and it ripped the finish right off! Luckily it was the bottom of the desk and no one will ever see it. On all the other stickers I carefully started pulling it back on all sides until it was fully off and didn't have any more damage done.Bottom Line....I LOVE this desk and it is a great price for such a modern stylish desk! 08/27/2011
