Rated 5 out of 5★ by Better Than Expected! Even with the many bad reviews, I decided to purchase this desk, as I needed something small and inexpensive. Lo and behold this desk is actually better than I expected. Since everyone says that it wobbles I decided to take my time in assembling this desk. I read the instructions carefully and made sure to tighten all the legs securely (some items are not supposed to be tightened too tight read the instructions). I don't notice any wobbling when I'm using it. I think it is best to take your time assembling and not rush through it. The end result would be a better product. I also like the fact that I can adjust the height of this desk by removing a couple of legs. This is beneficial for small kids. The only downside I noticed in this product is the keyboard pull-out shelf. It is entirely too small to hold a full sized keyboard and a mouse, which means having to put the mouse on the top shelf. This can be uncomfortable for your arms. I remedied this by using an old mini keyboard I already had. Overall it is a nice, low-priced desk. 06/09/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by It's a twenty dollar computer desk. I found out I was being requisitioned a computer for my home office and had the weekend to get a desk in there to hold it (my home office space was already at a premium). I didn't have time to wait for a delivery and I sure didn't have time to find room in my budget for the desk. My closest Walmart had this Mainstays in stock for twenty bucks, and it's light enough I could carry it out of there myself with no help (I am not a large or muscular person). Assembly is easy enough if you have a Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer. The instructions are fairly simple, yet still vague enough that I accidentally put two wood panels on upside down. Oops. Well they're extra ugly looking, but they don't ruin the functionality of the desk any so they're staying that way. Bottom line: this thing is made of particle board and plastic. Those gray supports in the picture sure do look like aluminum don't they? They're not. They're the same kind of plastic that garage shelving is made out of. Nevertheless, it's sturdy enough to hold my computer with no wobbling, as long as I don't try anything silly like leaning on the desk or pulling out the keyboard panel too fast. This is not a desk for lounging about on. This is a desk for utilizing, in the most utilitarian way you can possibly interpret that word. This is also a desk for tall people, but I get by with it. For twenty bucks, whattaya want? 11/03/2012
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Great price! If you buy this desk you cannot expect it to be luxury. This is an inexpensive way to hold light weight items. I first bought it for my daughters school computer, which is a typical business computer with a small tower and flat screen. After that I re-engineered an old desk by Mainstays to make a face-to-face desk for two computers for both of my kids in school. (home schooled) Since I did not need it for a computer anymore, I re-engineered it so that the slide out tray is now at the bottom and it was used as a printer cart with extra storage on top for books, pencils, etc. Now it is used to hold our parakeet cage and their accessories are under it on the sliding tray. So, for $20 it has been a great deal for my family. With a little creativity products can be reused over and over. I have owned this for desk 4 years now and I do not see a reason to toss out it yet. 01/23/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by CHEAP SOLUTION WOBBLES It wobbles a bit for me but I have a 32 Inch display on it and its held it up there wobbling for some time never fallen and the keyboard tray on mines stays in place (did you install the keyboard tray backwards or something previous commenter? lol i dont have that problem). It's great i love it. Fits in a tiny space and was a great buy for the $20 i payed for it!!! i can't be happier. I built this months ago almost a year has passed since then. :DI do have some advice don't over tighten the screws on the keyboard tray i kind of tightened them firmly and it started to buldge out the other side its not out completly but theres tiny buldges where the screws went on the other side... so I would say tighten screws until they enter but dont firmly tighten them... I'm talking about slightly insert them and twist a little... i barely applied pressure when tightening but all is good you can't really see the lumps. The manual didn't mention nothing about how loose or tight the screw should be kind of a shame. Over all for the price I payed I'm satisfied it's a truely Great product! Easy on the wallet to... 06/04/2012
Rated 3 out of 5★ by bought 2008 I bought this item at the store in 2008 and am still using it with my laptop, it has been wobbly since I first got it but for the price it has been ok. 05/30/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Did not meet my expectations!!! Well from a 20 dollar desk I really don't know what to expect. This desk took about 30 minuets to set up and let me tell you after setup this desk would not stop we put our hp touchsmart 21.5 inch computer and had to take it off the desk immediately. This desk was shaking the keyboard tray was so small that if you pull it out far enough the whole tray will come out of place and hit your toe or something, Well I say you get what you pay for and with this desk that is absolutely correct. If you want a really good desk for a low price I would say buy the, Sauder Beginnings Student Desk. 05/29/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Very Functional I needed an inexpensisve computer stand for a small space and this is perfect. It was easy to assemble and looks nice. Once my tower computer was on the base that provided the weight needed to keep it from shaking, like others have mentioned. I am going to buy the matching printer table now. 01/22/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by Rickety It looks ok but it is cheaply made and is incredibly rickety. I feel like I wasted my money because even though I bought this desk I still have to go out to get another one. There is no room to write on the desktop and the way you have to rest your arm in order to use the mouse is uncomfortable. 08/01/2012
