Great deal! After reading the reviews on here prior to purchasing the bookcases, I was a little scared of what to expect when I opened the boxes. Luckily, nothing was damaged like a few others claimed theirs were. Assembly was tricky at first, but after the first one, the second was a breeze. It looks absolutely fabulous alone, but we found out both fit in the same nook on one side of our fireplace, and let me tell you--two side-by-side look a lot more expensive than 30 bucks. You cannot beat this deal...My only criticism is that the back panel of the bookcase could be a lot sturdier than the super thin flap-like panel you nail on, but hey... it's 30 bucks! I am confident these bookcases will last me a long time (10 years) before I desire new ones. Plus they're very chic and nice looking. Just be careful assembling it and you'll be fine! 11/24/2009
Got what I paid For I brought two of these to put in my girlfriend's house. They were very inexpensive so I didn't expect much. Putting it together was not fun, but the instructions were clear and direct so It didn't take that long. My girlfriend has ALOT of heavy books and after four months the shelves are holding them just fine. I loves the bookcase so much I went back and brought two CD cases.For the money this was a great purchase. 11/23/2009
very good for the price i bought these shelves ( 2 ) about 1 1/2 years ago.i use them to store some of my dvd collection. they have worked very well, nicely boxed, instructions ( if youve built anything like these befor ) werent the best in the world but were simple enough to figure out. they are pretty sturdy even on my carpet. they survived a move to which usually says alot about especially cheaper furniture like these.the only reason not 5 star all the way across is that not all the shelves are adustable, im very picky about how things look and wish i could have all the shelves evenly spaced out since my dvds are typically the same size.As a testement to how much ive liked these i just purchased 2 of the same brands smaller 3 shelf bookcases for more dvd storage. 08/12/2009
Not for Books If you buy this product for simple storage or display, you're in luck. It's a decent product for a great price, HOWEVER, if you're buying it to use as a bookshelf, the shelves bow. They cannot handle much weight, so a sturdier bookshelf is a better option. This isn't a bad product, just not meant for storing books. 09/10/2009
