i purchased 2 of these chest and both have lost the face of drawers. the plastic brackets that hold the sides and front of the drawers together broke. these are good for small children, not teens. the drawers should be handled with exstream care they will break if they are over stuffed or pulled with any substantial force. i would not buy these again.

This product looks great - but arrived broken. The thin wood had broken inside of the box. However, I decided to set it up anyway to see if I could make it work. The wood continued to break and buckle as I put the nails/screws in. This product is not easy or intuitive to assemble and it is poor quality, making assembly near impossible even if you do understand how to put it together. The dresser is currently leaning to one side, about the completely collapse. I am currently in the process of trying to get my money back. Do not buy this product, unless you want to invest in additional structures (ex: replacement wood, liquid cement, etc.).

    Sticky drawers

Everything is great...except the drawers. they're a wonderful depth both ways, but their engineering was a little shortsighted. Instead of having meral tracks on the dresser and wheels on the drawer, there's a plastic track on the dresser into which you slide the drawer, which has cutouts on the sides. The rail is too thick, or the cutouts are too thin, either way, I'm not a dainty woman and it's a MAJOR hassle to get the drawers in or out. they should have put the rails under the drawers instead of inserting them; then everything would be fine. If you have a power drill (Therefore not needing the precut holes), I highly recommend doing so. The only other thing is the bottom of the drawers. The rest of the dresser is made of pressed wood, but the bottom of each drawer is made of cardboard. Go to Lowes and have some plywood cut, becase this isn't even good cardboard; it's like the stuff you use to make posters. I honestly don't think it will hold my 12 pairs of size 6 jeans more than a few days before it caves and I end up buying wood. BUT, overall, as cheap as this is, it's a better deal to buy it and some small upgrades than to get something more expensive if it's just temporary. No matter what, if you don't have a power drill, buy a metal file to wear down the plastic rails, or you will NOT get these drawers open. They're still working on the right size rails, I guess; maybe the second batch will come out better.

70lbs of dresser for $59.00? You're on! I got this dresser, and reading the previous reviews I also followed the suggestion of adding wood glue to the pieces for stability, and using candle wax to help 'lubricate' the drawer tracks. The finish/alder-look is actually decent. The drawer handles are plastic, but for the price, I can deal with it. If it bothers me too much, I'll go to Home Depot and pick up more attractive ones for $5. It took me approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete this, start to finish. I used a phillips head screwdriver, a hammer, a 25-cent votive candle, and wood glue. The instructions and drawings were clear. The drawer tracks are labeled "left" and "right", it's just engraved into the plastic and difficult to see. Also, I was impressed with the tv-dinner style plastic tray that the hardware came in, versus the annoying multiple little bags you typically get with assembly furniture. I will buy more from this set, I am quite pleased.

Not as Nice as it Looks

I bought this dresser kit because my 5-year-old son's el cheapo dresser is literally falling apart now. This dresser is a step up, but not by much. Assembly is NOT what I would call easy. I have a lot of experience assembling furniture kits, including 2 entertainment centers and as many computer desks, and this one is no fun at all -- especially the drawers. Some of the parts look a *lot* alike, so take your time and be careful. Directions say assembly time is an hour. It took me about 1:45. While it says all you need is a screwdriver and hammer, I'd HIGHLY recommend also a drill or cordless screwdriver. It feels as if it's not very durable. The drawers, according to the manual, support only 20lbs, and don't slide well on account of exposed plywood in the channels the slides fit into. They are also somewhat wobbly when pulling them out or pushing them in. Overall the thing is plywood and particle board with a nice-looking alder veneer over quite a bit of it, so don't expect rock-solid construction here. The dresser itself looks great, but I suspect it's not going to have a terribly long lifespan. It's probably not a terribly bad value given the price, but the hassle involved in assembly should steer you elsewhere. Don't buy this unless you don't have much choice.

Very Good Product for the Low Price

When puchasing inexpensive "do-it-yourself" furniture, obviously you cannot expect top of the line. With that being said, this is a wonderful product for the price. I've read some reviews complaining about how the dresser does not have wheels and tracks for the drawers, but what can you expect for $60? I am very impressed with the look, and yes the drawers are different than most dressers I've ever owned, but they work just fine. Basically there is a groove on both sides of the drawers, and you install plastic runners inside the frame of the dresser, and the drawer slides right onto the runners. As long as you are gentle with it, I can see the dresser lasting a very very long time. ***IMPORTANT TIP*** When assembling this unit I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING WOOD GLUE. I picked up a small bottle of Elmers Wood Glue at Walmart, and used it in all of the connections and joints. Doing so makes the process a bit longer, as I would assemble certain parts and let dry overnight-but trust me-it is well worth it. Without wood glue the unit would most likely be "loose" or "wobbly" but with the glue, it really looks and feels like it should be sold at a name brand furniture store.

The dresser was pretty easy to assemble. it doesn't have the traditional sliding drawers, so it just slides in and out, nothing too bad, as of yet. There's a space between the drawers and the sides even thru everything is screwed tightly. I have the desk and file cabinet so the room matches overall which is nice. the dresser suits it purpose i keep just gym clothes, accessories, bath suits stuff and guest towels in it. My small 22" tv is also on top of it and its not tipping over or wobbling at all so that good. I'm keeping the box for at least 6 months just in case, previous reviewers have problems, rather be safe than sorry

This product was great for the money. I was looking for something simple to put my extra close in; it fit more close then I thought it would. (Not anything heavy) I put the whole thing together by myself; had all the pieces and extra left over!!! Make sure you don't throw the back of the drawer away (I almost did) even thought hte back is cardbored it works if you put enough nails in it=] good luck!!!

This is a bare-bones chest of drawers. Drawers slide out -- particle board on plastic sliders. No rollers and certainly no ball bearings. The drawers only open about 2/3 of the way. If I saw this on a demonstration unit in the store, I would not have bought it, but it's not quite bad enough for me to return.

    • A. Hi Ayushi- If the drawers are sticking I would suggest first of all you get a piece of "fine" sand paper and sand the part where the runners are going to slide into. This will get any burs or rough spots out. Then you can run a bar of soap down the drawer runners. Once you do both of those, put the drawers back in opening and closing them a few times to get them moving smoothly. I hope this helps but if not please remember you can call 1-800-489-3351 for assistance with your situation.

    • A. The track that the draw slides on may be loose and hanging up in the slot on the side of the draw. Or you can lubricate this slot by rubbing a bar of soap or a wax candle back and forth in the slot especially the edge that rides on the top of the track.

    • A. I would double-check to be sure all of the hardware is as tight as it can be on the stuck drawer or make sure the rest of the dresser is relatively square. Look from behind where you nailed the cardboard on, is there any part that doesn't meet up nicely with the edges of the dresser? A problem like that may cause the drawers to stick. Hopefully that helps...

Without bracket chest may be top heavy and tip. Also cardboard back panel does not give chest much lateral strength without bracket.
