Rated 5 out of 5★ by RainmanP Just what I needed at an unbelievable price OK, it seems silly to write a review on something that only cost 98 cents, but I thought I might as well. I wanted two pitchers for iced tea because when I finish one it is nice to have a cold one in reserve. I was hoping to find something in the $5-10 range so I was amazed to see these for 98 CENTS! I was not sure what to expect, but, again, 98 CENTS! The plastic seems fine. Obviously, they are not what you would call heavy duty, but they should last for quite while. The tops are the kind that you can rotate for "closed", pour, and strain.I do have a couple of minor issues, but not enough to knock off a star for something that cost 98 CENTS! When the top is "closed", ie, rotated to any position except the small pour and strain openings, the lip does not really extend far enough into the pitcher to actually "close". There is a small gap of about 1/8". This is not a major problem, but I do have to be careful. A half gallon of liquid fills the pitcher right up to the pour spout. Unlike some other similar pitchers we have had in the past, the top of the pour spout is not even with the top rim of the pitcher. Rather, it is kind of a half cylinder shape that extends straight out and is about 3/4" deep. So if the liquid level is just below the spout it can easily slosh out if you aren't a little careful. Certainly not a reason to not buy, but it is good to be aware of such things. The second item is only a minor issue because of the way i had hoped to use the pitchers. The height is quoted as 7.85". That would have been perfect because it would fit under a lower shelf in the refrigerator, freeing up space on our tall shelf. Even without the top the pitcher is just over 8". With the top it is 8.75". I am not going to knock off a star.If you just need a utility pitcher this one will work great. It would be especially good for situations like an event where it might get lost or damaged or you need several pitchers. 09/03/2013
