I would think it's ok for that.
I got it as an extension to my desktop -for putting food & drinks on it.
(as usual, my desktop is full up)
It seems to be quite stiff and strong.
My swag is it's made out of high density polyethylene..
However, I would not put anything hot on it. Room temp only.
(I'll bet that @200f it gets quite soft... 300f and it melts)
Not much sticks to it.. a feature I like.
Btw: It's about 3/8" thick.

I would think you could use it for this as it is large enough.

I personally would not use it for that, the surface is mildly textured, and I prefer a smooth surface for rolling out the dough.

can this be used as a pastry board, and for kneading bread dough?

I don't recamend It. I've heard some where that putting sharp knives in the dish washer dulls them

It doesn't fit in mine but only takes a minute to wash by hand

I bought this cutting board to use to tape down watercolor paper for painting.  I have smaller versions of the same brand that I love for slicing and chopping, which is why I bought this large on.  This cutting board It is lighter than a piece of wood the same size, water won't warp it, plus nice and solid.

take a paper towel and get it wet... not damp but wet.  place the wet paper towel under the cutting board and you now have a nonskid board. You can also use a small paper towel sized piece of Easyliner Original Grip Shelf Liner.  Works Great.

tip to keep it from skiding around while cutting

I only use one side of my stove, and cover the other side with this cutting board that I bought. It gives me extra space, is white, and blends with my stove.
So the price was good, I measured the size I needed, and found it on W. Mart.com, and picked it up "free shipping" at the store.

great product, but I don't use it for cutting!

This oversized cutting board is large enough to cover my chipped counters. I have one next to my sink and another at my food prep station. They are easy to clean and look good after lots of food chopping. These have allowed me to put off getting my counters refinished. I highly recommend this product.

I LOVE this board!  
It solved so many kitchen problems for me--wish I found it earlier:
Not only is it a great cutting board but it hides counter defects, it non-porous, cleans easily, prevents egg roll, prevents vitamin roll, you can slide things on it, and prevents water from going all over--sanitary.

It does slide around depending on how you use it--but you want that.  The boards that have rubber ends or feet--that rubber starts to grow mold in a few days from the water that will be on it all the time and it's impossible to clean the mold off rubber.  You will be cooking next to mold then. People that write negative reviews that it slides don't understand that rubber is not your friend around food.   

If they made even a bigger one I would get it--but this size is fine.  I would not go smaller.

Just get this one--it's the best!

These cutting boards are great for putting books on, while a metal wire shelf.  I'm relieved knowing that these cutting boards are protecting my books, and soft storage, from indentations from the metal wire shelf.

i use it in one side of my sink,i have limited space,so i can cut it,to fit along the sink edges,around faucet,its inexpensive so when this wears out i can reolace it.Easy to keep clean,too

Three stars because even though it says "dishwasher safe", I put in my dishwasher after the first use and it came out a bit warped.  I will be handwashing from now on.  The size is great.  I ordered online so it's really a bit bigger than I thought, but I can easily cut anything on it.

If you want the least safest option and dont care that your food may wind up on the floor, pick this thing. Big and awkward to clean, this thing slides around like its a sheet of ice. If tried it during the return time, I wouldve returned it...but Im stuck eith it.
