Rated 5 out of 5★ by LoveMy4Hs Very Bright. We own a small hobby farm and have a problem with coyotes, raccoons and other small varmints coming around at night. I have been in the market for a spotlight type light for a while now that I can shine from my back porch to light up the barn to see what is going on. This light more than does the trick. The beam will not only light up the barn, which is about 100 yard or so away, but well past it.I also took it camping with me a couple of weeks ago and it put all of my buddies lights to shame. It was a little bit of overkill for a camping trip though. In my opinion, the light is best used as a spotlight. It is very bright and even its reflection will make you squint. I only have about an hour’s use out of it so far and it is still shinning like a champ. Some of the reviews I read on it state that the 2 D cell batteries will only last 12hrs or so and the brightness drastically decreases after only a little use. I guess I haven’t used it long enough to comment on that or its durability. I will post an updated review if things take a turn for the worse after I have had it longer than a few weeks. 03/26/2013

Rated 5 out of 5★ by CBHB Great Solid Flashlight, love the focus beam! I'm a flashlight junkie, and I was skeptical about getting a Cree bulb in a Maglite. I'm very happy I gave it a chance! This thing Is very bright, way exceeds what I have had in my sure fire's, coast and even my Cree xml-t6 ultra fire flashlight. Simple on and off and with a half press momentary (as long as you hold it down). Even as the batteries wear down the light will still reach out and touch long distances. I compared the regular Maglite with the Cree bulb 2 d vs the pro version. The pro version is defiantly where its at with much brighter output and intensity of the beam. Even though the run time is not as long as the non pro version the extra light output is defiantly worth it! I will be replacing the rest of my flashlights with this version (pro) and even have the mini Maglite in the pro plus 2aa and am impressed with it for its size. 10/01/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by TPhilli Not Reliable-will leave you in the dark My job requires a reliable flashlight. This is not a reliable flashlight. I bought one of these several months ago because I thought MagLite was a tough, dependable product. I was wrong. It worked well for a few weeks. Inexplicably, the light began to dim to almost no light. Sometimes it would flicker between bright and almost no light. This occurred after just minutes of use and not long periods of time. Fresh batteries did not help. Thinking I may have been too rough with the flashlight and broken something, I bought an identical product. The replacement light malfunctioned in exactly the same way. Right out of the package, junk. I contacted MagLite via email and got no response. They are in to me for $70 of bad product. They will not get any more of my money. My advice to you, buy a different brand. 02/28/2013
