Magic Chef 1.7-Cubic Foot Compressor Refrigerator 4.5 5 6 10
A best buy When my full sized fridge quit working, I first bought a used deep freeze for items that needed freezing. Then since I live alone, I looked at the small units. I am very pleased with it. Naturally, the freezer compartment is not big, but there is plenty of room in the rest of the unit for leftovers and beverages. In fact, when the thermostat was at its lowest setting (coolest) ice formed overnight on a glass of water. Turning the controls up slightly fixed this problem. For the money, this is definitely a best buy and I highly recommend it. 05/29/2010
OK, but not what I wanted This fridge is too noisy to use in a bedroom--it makes a loud pop/click when cycling off & on. Interior is very small, freezer compartment almost non-existent. It would be OK in a game room or garage, but wouldn't recommend for dorm room or bedroom. 08/29/2010
Magic Chef 1.7 cubic ft Dorm refrig This dorm refrig is cold, cold, cold. I had one that didn't make the needed 40 degree mark to keep things cold enough, but Magic Chef kept it's coldness without any problem (constant 36 degrees). 12/03/2010
Fridge for polymer clay I'm a designer and a production artist; that's what I bought this fridge for - to keep the polymer clay I'm working with cool. It works just fine for that purpose. I like that it has a manual temperature control, so it's easy to keep the temperature you need.It also has a very low level of moisture condensate, which was important for me. If you have a moisture-sensitive food/products, this fridge will be just right for you.I don't recommend placing it right next to your bed though, as it makes loud pops when it goes on and off. Since it stands in my studio, it doesn't bother me, but next to bed would be bad.Overall, it's a good little fridge with just enough of functions for its price. If you place things in freezer, and they're in plastic bags, make sure to place them on the plastic tray provided with the fridge, otherwise they might stick to the freezer. 11/04/2010
