This is a great microwave for the price! I compared this to several other brands in this price range from costco, sears, lowes, home depot and the internet. Hands down this one had the best features for only $59. The 30-second express cooking is a great feature. Defrosting by weight works like a charm. Hope this helps...

This microwave is perfect for us. We don't need the larger size anymore but don't want the much smaller size with the lower wattage. It fits very nicely on the countertop without taking up so much room as our older/larger model did. Very pleased with item as well as Walmart's ordering and speedy delivery.

I've only had this oven for about 3 weeks, so I can't rate it's durability, but the oven did give me a few pleasant surprises. It is slightly lower in power than my old oven, but heats just as quickly. Its interior size is also slightly smaller, but my largest casserole, bowls, and square Pyrex baking dish all fit in it with no problem, so the smaller size turned out not to be an issue. Its exterior size is slightly smaller - a good thing, since my counter space is limited. It is quieter than my old oven. I like the fact that pressing the Start button automatically cooks for 30 seconds. For each press of the button, 30 seconds is added at any time during cooking. Very quick and easy. My old oven did 1 minute in that way, but 30-second increments are actually handier. There are 4 things I dislike about this oven: 1) To set a specific time that's not rounded to the nearest minute, you have to press a time-cook button first, then enter the time. On my old oven, you just pressed the numbers, then "Start" and were good to go. (Yes, I do know it's silly to mind pressing that extra button but I do. :D) I'll get used to it. The tradeoff here is that, to set a cook time of an even number of minutes 1-9, you just press that 1 number button and it starts immediately. For example, to cook for 4 minutes, just press "4". The microwave assumes you mean "4:00" and starts immediately. 2) The door latch release has to be pressed quite hard to open the door and the buttons, which are located on the same side as the latch, also have to be pressed quite firmly. The oven is pretty lightweight for its size. That's good when you have to move it, but in day-to-day operation, after you press the door latch or buttons a few times, the oven tends to slide backwards a little on the side where the latch is located, and winds up sitting crooked. I've solved that by putting something between the oven and the wall behind it, on that side (to keep from blocking the vents on the back), but one shouldn't have to do that. If the oven were to be placed on a microwave cart or in some other location that didn't have a wall behind it, that could be a problem. Better non-skid feet would likely solve the problem. I will probably be putting non-skid rubberized shelf liner under it, but that will need cleaning and changing. One shouldn't have to do THAT, either. 3) As some others have commented on regarding this oven, it beeps very loudly FIVE TIMES when it turns off. It does not need to do this. Unlike on my old oven, there is no way to turn off the sound. Opening the door doesn't stop the beeping. If you watch the time, you can open the door with 1 second left and remove the item, then clear that 1 second off the timer, and you will hear only 1 beep when you press the Stop/Clear button. That is as quiet as you can make it. 4) Last but not least... this oven is not made in the U.S.A. Overall, a good value for the price IF it lasts awhile. I don't expect it to last 15 years, like my old oven did, but if I get 5 years out of it, I'll be happy with it.

Of course, other buttons/settings can be used -- but I'm buying a replacement microwave for my mom. She's almost blind and is only familiar with using the bottom (30 second) button, and I'm finding that there are many with 1 minute increments rather than the 30 seconds she needs. The item description doesn't say, and the enlarged photo isn't clear enough to tell. Thanks!
