Battery Useless I bought the Magellan 1700mu for the big screen BUT returned my 1st one because the battery, after full charge, only lasted a few minutes. The replacement i got does the same thing. I called tech support and they deny problem telling me they will replace the unit. I don't believe that it is a coincenence that 2 units have same pronlem. I will return it and buy a differant one 06/27/2011
Great Large Screen! The large is very useful for my SUV. My windshields are kinda further away from my car so it def helps. I like the fact that is a 7 Inch screen..really good price for a 7inch screen. No issues so far and it has work wonders for me.As far as other comments about the battery, I have no problem with it. On a full charge, I can use for about two hours before I need to recharge them. Most of the times, I have my car charger plugged in as I have other car charger outlet in my center console. 02/02/2012
Great after-market GPS! Borrowed a 1700 for college road trips! It was so great we got our own unit! Very impressive turn-by-turn directions! The Magellan 1700 seems to have better sound quality than its smaller version GPS unit. Really like the distance & ETA(estimated time of arrival) displays! Fascinating graphics of highway as you drive route. This really helps during night-time driving on state & US highways!! Definitely beats paying a car dealer thousands of dollars for a navigation system! The Wal*Mart home delivery was right on time - too bad you can't purchase in-store ... But we love our 1700, it's easy to use! And Wal*Mart beats competitors price by $30 - $60!!! 05/12/2012
