Walmart.com is my place to find everything. When I did a Google search for shoehorns, this was the first on the list, and just fine by me as I could use the Ship-to-store feature and save shipping. My Wal-Mart is only minutes from my home. Walmart.com has so many hard to find things, and their price is always right.

The shoehorn & the 24" shaft is made of sturdy steel. It is very durable.

some sort of metal on the shoe horn part, not marked stainless steel. Metal and plastic handle. Has a metal spring where the shoe horn is attached to the long handle. The shoe horn bent the first time I used it I thik I can still use it, but I don't think it's going to last too long.

Handle is made of steel and artificial leather. Shoe horn is made of flimsy piece of steel and loses shape on first use. Not worth the money.

It&#39;s metal, but it is very thin and will not hold its shape if there is any tightness getting the shoe on. Don&#39;t waste your money.

It is metal that bends quite easily.  The handle is hollow plastic which broke very easily when I threw it at a squirrel.

The device is simple and works. If you are limited in range of bending over this can save your back. The spring on the shoe horn allows a less than perfect angle to work anyway. People that have hip and knee replacements will find it very helpful in getting back into a normal routine.

A big help to those with limited mobility.

This shoehorn met most of my requirements before I bought it but at the first use my wife managed to bend the toe of the shoehorn while pushing her foot into the shoe.
The end didn't break but it deformed by 90 degrees.  It seems to be made of thin tin material and not strong enough to last.
I bent it back to continue to use it but it has a fold in the surface that doesn't look good.  I now have to remind my wife to be very gentle with it.
I will replace it as soon as I find something sturdy.

Convenient but fragil

My shoes are tight and this shoehorn is too flexible to keep the shoe open while this Cinderella's stepsister attempts to get the foot to fit. I need a very stiff appliance that won't bend (or a prince...)

The part that slips into the shoe is not made with very sturdy metal, so it bent a little too easily. But, it's ok, I'll just have to be careful with it.

First use and it bent...

I have had this shoe horn for less than 1 week and the shoe horn head and spring have already separated from the shaft.  I am guessing that the glue used to bond the head to the shaft was poor quality.  In addition, the wrap at the top of shaft is a lower quality material and not leather.  $12 for a shoe horn is a fairly expensive price for a cheap product.  The manufacturer should not skimp on quality at this price.

Great Idea Poorly Executed due to Quality Issues

I purchased this shoe horn for my elderly father, who has trouble bending over. The first time he used it, it bent. I have returned it. I would not recommend this product.

I ordered 2 and both fell apart after 2 usages.

It breaks at every single use, detaches at the spring side, you can reattach it but it will detach next time you use it, so you have to bend and use your hand for the end piece. The shoe piece, by the way, bends out of shape.  I'm not recommending this to anybody.
