Rated 5 out of 5★ by DTC216440330 Upgrade from stock adapter I had an MSI MS-3871 Wireless Module for my Intel DP67BG Motherboard (desktop). That Wireless Module has never worked well. Even at distances of 10' away it had connectivity problems. I was diligent to set it up correctly (I must be thorough; I am a Tech Support Specialist). After extensive troubleshooting, I gave up on the MS-3871 and decided to try this Cisco AE2500-NP. Figured if it didn't solve my range and connectivity issues, I could easily return it. Thankfully, I won't have to! Really easy setup, great speed and range. Definitely resolved my WiFi issues. Small and easy to set up. Great buy, great value, highly recommended. 04/21/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Ve101 This works so well, I bought another. :) This is an excellent little device. It sets up very fast, and stays connected thus far. It also was easy to re-setup when my router was damaged in a storm and I had to get a new router. I bought a second unit for my husband's computer. We have no problems with any kind of latency even while playing MMO games (via computer and xbox) with multiple wireless devices connected. 06/07/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by IMNetUser Boo Linksys and Linksys Support Friend purchased the N300 (AE1200) then N600 (AE2500) when the AE1200 did not work. I do computer work on the side and was helping him install for second computer.Linksys specifications claim they will work with 64bit Windows 7. Computer is a Desktop 3.0 GHz Quad core with 4GB Ram. Router is a LINKSYS WRT120n (dual band). Tried using supplied disk software and drivers. Tried downloading driver and software from Linksys website.Called Linksys support several times. Kept getting disconnected. Although phone # was provided for these type "Accidents" - Linksys never called back - we had to call them.In every attempt, the Linksys software refused to acknowledge the USB network adapter. The computer recognized the adapter, driver installed BUT refused to allow adapter to be enabled. Diagnostic software showed error with driver. At no time could we get to point where computer would acknowledge a wireless connection available because the Linksys software would NOT acknowledge a USB Network adapter was attached (YES - Adapter blue light was on).Linksys Support went through all the steps I had already done and came to the conclusion, it is a computer issue and needed technician support which required a PREMIUM support contract.I decided to try adapter on other computers. They worked with all versions of XP but not 64 bit Windows 7. Linksys support - obviously the computer is problem if it worked with XP operating system.So... Pulled hard drive on Dual Core computer with 64 Bit Windows 7. Put in a new hard drive and performed minimal XP Pro installation. Adapter was found and worked. Linksys called - obviously NOT Linksys fault - consult Microsoft.Bad Call.Blame the computer - not the computer. Then blame the operation system. In general, while Linksys phone support has always been .... frustrating. The Linksys products have been fairly good. I have used, worked and owned Linksys products. But when a product does not work as advertised, Linksys support can not help but states it WILL work but requires third party PREMIUM tech support - you lose my business from now on.For the record, I personally did not purchase these adapters - my friend did for his computer.Kudos to Walmart for accepting the returned AE2500 adapter. The AE1200 adapter (NOT purchased at Walmart) - to much time was taken to get the thing to work before time expired to return item. Also for the record, when you purchase electronics, USE them within the return period and/or warranty period. This gives you options for support or returning the product before you are stuck with it. 06/25/2013
Rated 2 out of 5★ by InternetUser1001 When it works it's great. Being a heavy internet user, I need my internet to work 24/7. After about a month of use, it started dropping my signal when I started using the internet heavily. It was definitely the adapters fault because my other devices worked fine when my signal was dropped. I also plugged in an old adapter to test my connection and my signal never dropped. Would not recommend this product. 06/30/2013
