This shade is exactly what I hoped for when I ordered it. It filters the light without blocking it completely. It was easy to cut to fit and easy to install. Most importantly, it looks beautiful in the window. we are very pleased with this purchase.

The Redi Shade Light Filtering Fabric Redi Arch is an easy and quick fix for arch windows. However, the instructions aren't very thorough on what to do if your window isn't a perfect arch. I went on-line to try and find instructions and couldn't find out what to do. My window is an oblong shaped arch and it took several mistakes before I could figure out how to make it work. It is only light filtering and NOT light blocking...but very pretty. I only gave it 4 stars because the instructions were not complete. To make it work for an oblong shaped arch, stretch out the center (keeping folds intact) several inches and fold over the top part little by little as you work in the curve of the arch. If you need to cut the shade, cut it the length of the very center of the arch, then stretch it out at the center for several inches and work in the curve of the arch.

These arch blinds are really nice. The installation was easy and I have a few tips. 1) Measure the height of the window. The blind has a ruler measure right on it and be sure to use the marking on the blind to cut - it has some adjustment built in to fit the blind and the holder with some ease around the edge. (It's actually about an inch shorter total.) I had two windows. For the first one I used the exact height that I had measured and selected that measurement on the ruler on the blind. It fit okay, but I thought it left a little too much room around the edge. For the second blind, I added 1/4" to my measurement and that worked better for my window. My windows were not perfectly circular - the base was an inch or two wider. 2) It's easy to cut if you use a very sharp knife. I used a sharp Chef's knife and it cut very nicely. The directions say not to use a serrated knife. The plastic holder works well and allows you to even out the pleats. The blinds look great, installed easily and you can't beat the price!

    • A. It wouldn't be easy. You would probably have to cut it at 38 inches, extend the shade until flat, and gradually trim down the ends to 35 inches (leaving the very center at the 38 inches). It would be a tedious process and probably take a lot of time getting it just right.

    • A. Yes, My husband used the included plastic piece that the shade sits in. It fans out at the top and stays in place and can be removed to let in the sun and clean your window.

    • A. the shade has a stick adhesive. If you took it off, you may risk it not sticking anymore. However, you may be able to re-apply with double sided tape if need be.

    • A. It does have tape on the bottom of the shade where it attaches to the window sill for extra stability. You could just expose the tape to the plastic half-circle it sits in and not attach it directly to the window sill and it would probably still keep its shape.

    • A. It can but the bottom strip has adhesive that you may disrupt when removing it. This is what keeps the shade in place and stable.
