Rated 5 out of 5 by cojo1957 Nice kayak for the money I have a 15ft touring kayak but I needed something easier to haul. After much research I bought this little kayak and could not be happier. Fit 2 side by side in my tundra, easy to haul and carry (although a handle on the back of the kayak would make it easier for two people to carry). It is very nimble and turns on a dime, very stable at my 165lbs. The track takes some getting use to, at 8ft it whips back and forth from left to right until you get a rhythm of paddling, I found deeper strokes closer to the kayak worked best. It is not super fast but if you find the right stroke you can move along pretty well. It has ample room and I like the dry storage in the seat back. I have room for a small ice chest, dry bag and life vest in the back and room between my legs for my water bottle, camera box and even places for my future fishing boxes. I have not used this kayak in rough water but we did take some pretty big wakes from large boats both sideways and head on and at no point did it feel unstable. We will be using these in and around the gulf of mexico and will post again after going through tides and currents. 06/26/2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by justgotmine Caution-Not for everyone First of all be warned that you can not stay dry on this boat unless you are very light. Anything over say 150lbs the water comes up through the "drain" holes into the seating area. No problem if it is intended for the beach in summer. On cold water your bum will get wet and cold.Secondly, the sail is useless. The boat only goes sideways no matter which direction you try to adjust the sail, and it makes no difference to how fast you go anyway. You would do better holding open your lifejacket to catch a breeze.It does not go very fast with the paddles but that's not a problem, it's not a kayak, but it's way better than an inflatable. In fact it looks almost like you're riding on a midget submarine, feels like it too. It's very stable so you don't have to worry about tipping, it won't tip over unless you try. And it fits easily into many vehicles which is very convenient.This is not really a boat or kayak. It's a water paddle board thingy. So if that's what you want it will work good, except the useless sail. If you're looking for something to get you on the water without getting wet or to paddle longer distances forget it. 06/27/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by John2113 Great Kayak I ordered this kayak online and it came in a lot sooner than expected. The kayak itself is great!! It's not too heavy or too long so it makes transporting it in the car and to the water super easy. I have been using it on lakes mostly and it has been a blast. I looked into the $500+ kayaks out there and this one is just as good. I have not tried the sail yet but, I am sure it will work fine. This is a great buy and you will not be disappointed. Rated 5 out of 5 by starwar Great like kayak the reason i was looking to buy "and got" a kayak is to get out on the water and get away from shore fishing my local lake. So i will start with my concerns i had while i was looking at this kayak. Is it going to be able to hold all the fishing tackle i want to bring? am i going to be able to maneuver around and not tip the thing? am i going to be able to get this thing to the lake on top of a Ford Focus ZX3? and the answers are YES! YES! YES!. this is a fantastic little boat i packed light on my tackle and realized i could fit a lot more, ( dry storage back rest comes in handy too) and found out to tip this thing i would have to be trying to fall out. and it secured nicely to the top of my little car. i did notice it is very slow moving and you will get a heck of a workout trying to move this thing fast in the water but for a relaxing day of fishing it was perfect i wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere and caught a 4lb large mouth bass my first trip out. over all I am very happy with my purchase and will be mounting a fish finder and some rod holders in the near future. 07/15/2011
