In our area, our school district does NOT send home students found to have head lice. This makes the spread of these little critters inevitable. We had 2 cases (daughter/long hair) in our home this year. First case: I treated with a lice treatment shampoo, washed all bedding and confined all stuffed animals. This took care of the problem, but if the classmate does not rid him/herself....they will continue to spread! 2nd case: same as the first, but then I found THIS! This is the best spray! I have my sons and daughter spritz every morning, while styling their hair and we have not had a problem since!! It does NOT smell wonderful, but the smell disappears as it dries. This has kept the little critters from thinking she has a nice head to call home and THAT is my main goal! I will continue to have her use this until she graduates from.....heck, college!!

We recently discovered our 2 year old had lice and after reading reviews online decided to use this product. According to online searches rid may not always work and its also considered a pesticide so I decided to find an alternative gentle enough for our toddler ...this product did the trick. As soon as we applied it and combed through all the lice and eggs came out...after one use I am pretty sure my child is now lice free...this did not irritate her scalp or have a strong scent....so glad we chose to purchase this item...you will not be disappointed and price is perfect since u can get a few uses out of it

My poor toddler had had lice for afew weeks. We had tried just using a comb and damp hair and preventative stuff but it did almost nothing. She wouldn't sleep well because of the itchiness. We rushed to get this after the research. Applied it and they were all dead. 20 minutes later her hair was done and washed! Still will use it once a week to make sure they don't come back but thanks so much!

I started spraying the way the box suggested and those little buggers were running from first spray! I have had one other experience with these bugs and I can say it was treat then retreat then retreat again all the while praying you didn't miss anything, not to mention all the cleaning and laundry. I started with my oldest, and from first spray one started crawling out of her hair onto her forehead. Before i started combing I had to wash my hand off from massaging the stuff in, I had several on my hand trying to get away from this spray. Once the family was all done we have decided the oldest must of had them first since her sister only had a few big enough to see, and mom and dad didn't find any visible bugs. But lord have mercy those critters were real mad when this stuff hit em. Dead bugs and no chemicals thank you LiceFreee!

My daughter had long hair growing up and we always had issues with getting head lice from school. I had the most difficult time trying to get rid of it and it just seemed like a never ending cycle. My granddaughter came home with headlice from school a few years ago and we kept trying different products and she just kept getting re-infested. So I decided to do some research and came accross lice freee. I was skeptical because it seems like chemicals and pesticides would do the best job at killing bugs but this stuff has ended my nightmare once and for good! Now anytime my granddaughter starts to scratch, I spray her head down and leave it in overnight. There is more than enough for more than one application so there is really no need to spray any pesticides on your furniture because they die after 7 days with no host. she was lice free for the last 3 years. Did I mention that it is not hard on your hair or scalp? It is also very easy to brush through and use the nit comb through. My daughter and granddaughter both have very long hair and I have no problems combing through. Its a good idea to spray your brushes or use them through hair that has been sprayed. No more pesticides for us! God bless!

    • A. The bottle says to leave it on until it dries completely. You're smothering and drying out the lice with sodium chloride, so you don't want to wash it out before everything is dead. We let our hair air dry which is affected by how humid the air is.

    • A. This product works by dehydrating the lice and nits. It must be allowed to completely air dry prior to washing out for this to occur. I leave it on a bit longer than necessary to be sure. The time required for drying will vary depending on the amount of hair and weather conditions. When the skin of the scalp or body feels tight it is an indication that most of the drying has occurred. I would leave it on a bit longer to be sure. The longer the better. Short hair and body areas would be dry perhaps in 20 minutes in low humidity weather but long hair may take an hour or more to dry the base of the hair and the scalp. I leave it on 3 hours or longer to be sure of best results. It doesn't have to be washed out at all, and can wait until the next shower or bath regardless of time.

    • A. At least until it dries. I am not qualified to talk about how long this takes in a girl with long hair; probably as long as it takes to naturally-dry hair after a shower. For a boy it is 10 minutes to a half hour depending on whether you spray outdoors and stay outdoors. I like to leave it on as long as I can, although I may comb out the dead lice sooner (since the idea of them on his head is gross).

    • A. It is best to wash out after it has dried. Since it is not a pesticide and does not contain anything toxic, it can be left on as long as you want.

    • A. The box to apply the product to dry hair. Saturate the hair. Then, let the "allow product to air dry naturally, do not rise out." However the next line says you can use the product often, but wash the hair regularly to avoid product build up. So, I put it on my girls' hair around 4pm after school, let their hair dry. Gave them baths, so they wouldn't get their hair wet. Then lice combed their dry hair before bed time at 8pm. Then washed their hair the next night.

    • A. We check again in about a week. You can put conditioner on your child's hair and use the same metal lice comb (after cleaning it) to wet-check again for lice to determine if you need to do it again. Nits hatch in 7 to 10 days, so I definitely recommend re-checking.

    • A. I would. your best weapon is a good comb. There is a better one out there than the one that comes in the box. We use the product once and then repeat in a few days. Keep checking daily until you are sure it's gone.

    • A. Box says don't use on children under 6 months of age. I used it on my 3 year old. I used it every couple days. But I think nit combing is probably the most important way to get rid of lice. I stopped using the product when I stopped combing out nits and couldn't find anymore on the head.

    • A. It can be used on the body, yes. It is not for bedding. The lice can escape the surface area and go deeper into the material. It would take an enormous amount of this product to completely saturate fabrics, so it would not be cost effective. Bedding must be thoroughly washed in hot water and dried at high temperature for at least 20 minutes. Longer drying is better if you can avoid scorching the fabric or creating a fire hazard in the dryer--40 minutes is a good goal for heavy infestations, but watch to be sure the fabric doesn't burn and check to be sure the dryer is actually getting hot. Rotating the bedding so that it gets several weeks or more of non-use also helps eliminate the lice.

    • A. I would WASH bedding in hot water if at all possible as is usually recommended. If it is impossible to wash bedding, I would keep the spray on your hair after it dries, and keep re-applying every few days so that any lice that happen to be in bedding find your hair inhospitable. Supposedly they die within 7 days without a host. The spray is supposed to be non-toxic so it should be able to be used on other body hair if affected.

    • A. The box advises you to machine wash your bedding. So probably not on bedding. The box says, "for body and crab lice, spray on affected areas and let dry" So I guess you could use it on your body. Though, it seems to be a product geared for head lice, and use on the scalp.
