I backed up my data onto this. I spend days getting everything correct and organized. I could access everything no problems. I even used a second computer and could access the data. Then I reinstalled the OS on my computer and went to put my data back onto the computer. The ix2-dl will not connect. I can see it is there using the router software but when I type in the 192.168.1.11 "site not found: message pops up. So I try to access using the other computer. No luck with that at all either. The drive bay just sits there with a blinking white light (the top one). I pushed the reset button on the back many times. Held it in for a minute. Unplugged the unit let it sit over night unplugged. Left it sit with the light blinking for two days now and nothing. I guess the data is there on both drives mirrored I just don't know how I can get it. I don't want to lose the years worth of data backed up (the reason I bought with the mirror capability). What next? There is no tech support help.

I have 10 of these units, each loaded with 2x3TB WD Red HD's. They have been terrific. I purchased mine from Amazon, where if you are a Prime customer, they end up being the lowest priced as well. I run a significant fiber network at home with several purpose-built PC's that are dedicated to programs such as CS6 & AutoCAD. I do a lot of photo, music & video editing & store all my photos in RAW. Storage space gets used up quickly. I find these very reasonably priced and a decent warranty. There are so many utilities you get with each that can be daunting; Yet, everything is very intuitive and they have had any feature I needed. The setup and management is superb, and the sleep feature is great as they ramp back up fast. And for the money, the data transfer is much better than more expensive units. I previously used D-Link DNS-323, but they don't hold the candle to these and have several that have failed within two to three years. I think these will outlast the HD's as they should.

I hate this NAS. Its terrible, if you turn this thing off, you have to install the whole NAS to your computer again and hoping it will make connection with your computer. Now my shares are on the drive but i cant see them anymore, not as a drive on my computer, not by internet explorer. It goes into the trashbin when i have my data of the drives.

This NAS dont have a friendly interface or a native app to manage data through smartphones. However it has great features such as FTP and WebDAV and decent transfer speeds.

Okay, I've had this unit since March of 2013. I added two 2TB WD drives, which I set up as mirrored. It has, through a number of updates and over time, caused me much aggravation. It simply disappears from my 'network' folder on all computers and this has been carried across Win 7, Win8-8.1 and Win10. Sometimes, it just 'gets busy' and won't allow any access, other times it will allow 'media server' access. I haven't a clue why it disappears from my network. If I actually type in its network name, sometimes I can get access but never when it 'gets busy.' I wouldn't wish this thing on anyone. I will say this. It has never actually lost any of my information although my original unit, which was an IX2 did when the control board died. One more point, I still have a SimpleTech 160GB netdrive that runs 24-7 and has since Sept of 2005. It just keeps a-chugging.

Purchased based on reviews on other sites, design, simplicity, and availability without drives. Wanted something that would automatically back up my stuff and would reside elsewhere from my PCs; it's currently on the floor in the front closet. Using a Seagate drive not on the "approved" list and no problems when I let the software reformat it. Web interface is simple but adequate, performance is fine for nighttime backups, and features are beyond what I would need. Durable construction and it looks great. A few settings could be more user-friendly so devote some time to setup; if you are very inexperienced with hardware, you might look elsewhere. Works great with Windows 7 and 8, trouble with Vista. It's cool, it's quiet, and it works. I'm happy.

This is an excellent little NAS. It was plug and play simple to setup and install. It defaults to RAID-1, which is a good safe default. It has an easy to use interface and actually has a surprising number of features. It has good email notifications (and does not require setting up the mail config). It even notifies you via email when an update is ready. It supports setting up any number of copy jobs for backup. I am using this NAS with two 3 TB WD Red drives (for NAS storage). The performance is not amazing (I get about 25 MB/s on Gigabit Ethernet). I am using it for backing up another NAS and for archival purposes. I highly recommend this drive to any home or small business user. The price and feature set make this a great unit.

Great Product After the Learning Curve

When I first bought this product I was frustrated and all most returned it back to the local store that I bought it from. I said I would keep it one more day and then take it back. I kept playing with it and realized it not a storage device attached to a network and is a actual server. After that clicked its a awesome product. Using either FTP or the Copy Job to move files around on the NAS I have no speed issues. I have a 10/100Mbit gateway and I hit 7-9MB/s over WIFI going from NAS to laptop or vice versa. The built-in torrent is great. Overall I am very satisfied. The UI could be more user friendly but after you get pass the learning curve the device is solid.

You will be getting it warrantied... Lenovo will only honor 1yr of the 3yr warranty if you do not register it. I've lost data twice and after 1.5yrs both hard drives. Slow performance, buggy software. Frequent resets needed to keep it online. Unit does report drive failures but says nothing about software corruption failures. Average to good feature set, easy enough to use. While I'm not happy about the ducking out on the 3yr warranty they do have local support that answers the phone and works with you - almost unheard of these days.
