My husband is skeptical, and he says the line will probably sag, if we use the full length of it. Is there a locking mechanism on it to keep the line taut?

    • You have a way to pull the line tight to prevent the saging.

    • No it does not sag but it is not meant for very heavy items

    • You are able to wrap the line around the bottom of it so that it does not sag. My room is less than 20', and when I wrap it around the bottom, I do not have any trouble with it sagging. It really is worth it - especially for the cost!!

    • Yes, the cord wraps around a small piece to hold the line tight.

    • It sags a little, but so do traditional clotheslines. It does have a locking mechanism on it so you don't have to use the full length. I use it for things I don't want to put in the dryer and for pool towels that can be reused.

    • Yes, there is a hook on the bottom to wrap the line around so it doesn't keep pulling out.

    • There is a loop to wrap the cord around which keeps the line taut. I have two of these and extend them full length with no problems. A little sag is normal. They really save money as compared to using a regular dryer.

    • It will only sag if really heavy items are put on it, like several pairs of jeans, I usually hang a pair or 2 of pants, and several shirts, without hardly any sagging.

    • There is a plastic knob on the underneath side to wrap the cord around, that keeps it from pulling out any farther and the cord sags a little, but not enough to worry about.

I need 21' long! is the clothesline removeable? is it unmontable, without having it to stay on the wall? what does it latch on to?
    by NineMarie
    • I just measured it: in fact, the line length is about 21'. What happens is that it you need a little bit of line to wrap around the "cleat" to secure the line. ...so you might take 4-5 inches to do that. So, usable length is about 6 out of the 12 extra inches (of the 21st foot). But, that's not a problem because you can jerry-rig a "splice" to lengthen a few feet or longer, I guess... Yes, it is mountable then removable in 1-3 seconds. THE SCREWS DO STAY ON THE MOUNTING SURFACE, THOUGH! The mounting bracket has holes and the screws have heads that are just large enough to allow for mount and dismount, quickly.

    • 20 feet is the only length that have seen. Yes, it is removable. Yes, you can take it off of the wall. The clothesline comes with wall anchor screws (2) and a screw in hook.

    • I needed another 4'; so I attached a short piece of line on the opposite side tied into a screw eye and connect the two ends with a carabiner clip. The line attaches with two screws that fit into keyhole shaped holes, so, yes, you could remover it easily by just loosening the screws a bit. It comes with a hook to attach to another surface, (mine is in a tree) They also sell one that is 40' and they can adjust to any length short of the total on the spool.

    • You just put two screws where ever you decide to mount it and it is removable ... and I'm not sure what you mean by 'latch' but the end of the clothesline that you pull out is connected to a hook, which is provided, that you put where ever you decide to mount the hook. Both mounts are removable.

    • It can be removable as there are "key hole" slots in the bracket where it is scewed to the wall. But then, you'd have to leave the screws slightly loose. This would cause the unit to wobble on the wall - maybe wearing out the screws and/or the bracket quickly. As far as length, I think it is advertised as 20' - but I haven't measured mine. (I only need 12'). Hope this helps.

    • it's going to be less than 21' since you have to wrap the line around the bottom to secure the tension. The assembly is riveted together so I don't thing you can replace the line. but you can't even buy a line for $9 the price of this item. very easy to install comes with screws & threaded hook. & is removable...you just slide the unit up over the screws & it comes off.

    • It's well over 20" - plus it comes with a hook to screw into the opposite wall that sticks out about an inch or more. The clothesline itself is coiled up inside the case and cannot be removed from the case, but the case can be unmounted from the screws easily and remounted. You would just want to leave the screws in the wall. It latches onto the hook where ever you place it. I have mine across my deck.
