Rated 5 out of 5 by HopeAndDetermination Love The Color Changes With The Glitter I purchased this Glitter Lava Lamp on line from Walmart.com. Picked it up at the store, came home plugged it in and it took 2 hours before it started working. I knew something wasn't right. Returned it to the store & ordered another one on line. Got that one home, plugged it in for 5 hours and it didn't work at all. Called Walmart.com spoke to a customer service rep and she went out of her way to help me out and I ordered 1 more & returned the 2nd one. I really liked this lamp so I was hoping this 3rd one would be the charm. Got this one delivered to my home, plugged it in and it started working immediately. The glitter started spinning around with the different colors and I love it. It was very frustrating & aggravating with these orders & the trips I made but I do have hope & patience and it was worth it. I called the company up who makes this Lava Lamp and she told me it was due to the way it was shipped from Walmart. There's a white spinner on the bottom of the Lava Lamp that stays in place with a magnet. Once that spinner comes off, the lamp will not work properly even though the spinner will fall back on top of the magnet. I really do like this lamp & hope that anyone else who orders this one, it will work for them the very first time. There's no need for warm up like the wax lamps. This starts spinning the glitter as soon as you turn it on. For me, it was worth the aggravation now that I have one that works. 05/07/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by mommi2acg despite the negative reviews There were several positive ones, so i decided to chance buying this for my daughgter's birtrhday. Just gave it to her, plugged it in and within a couple minutes, the glitter stopped moving. Light still worked but no movement. I will return to Walmart tomorrow and attempt one more, but if that doesn't work I hope I can find a different brand through Lamps Plus. 09/29/2012

She has always loved "glitter lamps" but the old cheap one we had got way to hot for safe nightly use so I wanted to replace it. There are a lot of perks to this model: It is all one piece, the top/bottom are securely attatched together. It can't come apart if a little one knocks it over. It is absolutely silent, changes beautiful colors in a gentle pattern, and gives off NO heat. As soon as you flick the switch on the base a silent motor starts whirling the glitter around in a little tornado and suddenly the whole lamp is filled with gently swirling glitter. My little one is in LOVE with this, and her older sisters are begging me to buy ones for their room too! Wonderful buy - I will buy another one when this one eventually bites the dust!!! 02/07/2012

She actually picked a more expensive one but loved this one because of all the different colors of light (seems like it goes thru the whole color spectrum and not just two or three colors) and the glitter effect makes it look as though water is glistening. It's quite mesmerizing. She hasn't turned it off yet. 01/03/2012
