yes! The wood for the counter top part is really thick, and as long as you put it together correctly, it will hold up. I've sat on mine before, and its very durable.

It might hold a small one, my own is too big for it.

I put my microwave on top but moved it because I bought it for counterspace. It will definitely hold a microwave though.

I personally don't think it looks cheap. Of course its not going to be as nice as some of the ones with granite tops and dark wood finishes, but if dont have all of the upgrades in your kitchen, this will be a nice match. I have your typical countertops, white appliances, and linoleum floors, and this island looks great. The white wood is good quality wood. I've had my island for a year, and the paint hasnt chipped, and the butcher block on top doesnt have any scratches in it (and I use it twice a week!). The hardware is silver and sleek, which I like. I hope this helps!

I was worried about the wood top bringing down the overall look at the unit. I don't think it looks cheap at all! It's made of strong materials (not cheaper materials you can find at ikea). I think it looks great!

Yes! It is even better than the picture shows. I'm very impressed with it. Around the back of it, you hammer on 2 black panels, so there are some nails you can see, but it doesn't look bad, and you could easily hang something on it.

I don't think it looks cheap have gotten many compliments, for that amount of money I think it was a great value.

Got mine a couple of days after ordering, came pretty fast.  We had it assembled and loving it so far! Very versatile, two drawers and cabinets stores tons of goods. Drawers are smooth, doors are aligned perfectly.  Quite happy with the buy. Would highly recommend.

We bought this to hold our microwave and add cabinet space in our small kitchen. It fit perfectly! It's a really pretty piece of furniture. The wheels lock and we used the towel bar as a paper towel holder. It has plenty of space inside and the shelves can be moved to accommodate bigger items. The drawers don't slide in and out very easily as they don't have metal sliders - but they will be perfect for lightweight items. Overall I am really pleased with my purchase!
