Rated 5 out of 5 by IceSkaterMom this is great for a beginner. Actually the size is quite bigger than the regular shoe size but it's ok though coz kid's feet grows really quick. just make sure to let them wear double socks. and the price is very affordable too. My kid loves it so much!

I bought 2 pairs for my daughters and felt satisfied with them. light weight and comfortable. Ice skating coach said no need for sharpening. Even though they are not expensive (my friend spent $140 for her daughter for wearing only one year), those shoes have no problem with beginner learning.
Just be careful not to have kids kicking or swinging their legs when they are sitting. It is very easy that the blades give new shoes a cut.
I bought 2 size larger than actual size. It is definitely fine. My daughters didn't complain that those shoes are too big or loose after putting on thick socks. I think they can be worn one more year.
Amazon has similar ice skates and maybe a few dollars less. But if you are not really sure what size to choose, you'd better to choose somewhere which you can return without paying shipping.

I purchased these skates for 6 year old daughter for lessons. She loves them so far. Great for beginners. They do need to be sharpened...

great beginner skate. serves its purpose well. little girls grow out of their skates so quickly, this is great for fast growing beginner skaters.

I bought these for my granddaughter. They were cheaper than renting skates for the class she is taking. They are really nice. Her teacher complimented her on how nice the skates were and her skating has improved. Well worth the price.

After reading a few reviews that said to buy a size bigger I decided to buy a size 2 for my 7year old. The shoes looked decent but were exceptionally big...can't blame anyone as it was my decision. I made her to wear 2 socks(one thin and other thick )and it solved the problem. She has been using them for a month now and never complained. I think I can use them next year as well. She is happy and so am I.

To be honest I expected the skates to be softer inside, my girl dose not complain, we put thick socks and she is happy. the pretty silver design looks really nice an all the kids at the arena notice it.
The blades need to be sharpened - $12

We got 2 of these, one for each daughter when they started ice skating classes. They loved them and the cost was the same as if we would have rented a pair for each lesson for 8 weeks. In other words we saved a year of rentals.
