FINALLY!!! After trying a sony network media player(junk) and a panasonic DLNA certified Blu-Ray player (even worse junk) I have found a network connected player that behaves as though intelligent people designed it!!! The disc playback seems good. The menus are quick-moving and good looking. But the best part is that it connects to my home network with no problem and actually recognizes, reads and PLAYS pictures, video and music stored on my Windows 7 computer. And...oh my goodness...it comes with a user manual on cd? One that's actually informative? And it includes software to help make your computer DLNA compliant? Wow...takes my breath away. Obviously LG cares about their customers. If playing stored content wirelessly is important to you then DO NOT bother with any other player. THANK YOU LG!!!

    Best Out There

I have tried out blu ray 3d players from many of the manufacturers to compare picture and sound. The Sony s590 was a pain setting up and the results weren't that great. I also tried Panasonic, and Vizio. I can tell you that without a doubt the LG 620 is the best one out there. Some of my regular dvd's look close to blu ray quality rather than just regular dvds. Blu rays look incredible. Netflix, Pandora, and all the other premium apps look stunning on this player. I am running my 620 using the wireless option. I did try wired as well and there wasn't any noticeable difference in my eyes. I have had my LG for a couple of weeks now and I am very satisfied with it. I really can't find anything about this product that I don't like. It performs fabulously. Take it from a guy who studies electronics everyday. I read all the reviews and then I try a brand and model out. If I don't like something about it to where I'm unhappy with it, I return it and try a different brand. I know a good picture when I see one and know good sound when I here it. I am using the hdmi cable to go from the player directly to my hd tv. I just can't imagine anything out there that I haven't tried that could look this good and have such a good menu system, etc. It's not perfect , but I would say that for my needs it's very close. Do try this model if you are looking for blu ray 3d. If you are unhappy with it, you must have been unlucky enough to have gotten a defective unit. Otherwise, you will love this player. I got mine at Walmart for under $120. It's the best out there for me at the present model year of 2012.

    Can Support Closed Captioning IF...

We needed a DVD player that could support closed captioning (not subtitles which are imbedded on most discs, but not all unfortunately). We originally purchased a Samsung player, but it could not do captioning, and had a few quality issues. I did some online research and discovered that CC signals are analog based, and most DVD players now only support digital signals on HDMI connections which render the CC unusable. I asked in the Q & A section of this model about captioning, but got impatient :-) and didn't wait for an answer. (The official LG answer said it wouldn't work.# I went ahead and bought the LG BP620 because of good reviews and because it had RCA jacks on the back. IF you use the RCA connections, with the red, yellow and white plugs, the closed captioning WILL work (at least it did on our less-than-2-years-old Samsung TV). The key, I'm guessing, for closed captioning to work on most new DVD players is that both the player and the TV must have the RCA connections. Subtitles on the disc will work with the HDMI connections. The nice thing about Walmart is that if there is a problem returns are simple. I'm glad I'd kept my receipt and original packaging for the Samsung player. As for the LG player itself, it works well and has an easy to read and use remote. Using the RCA connections does degrade the picture quality slightly- as opposed to the HDMI connections, but, if captioning is needed, it is well worth the small difference in quality. Hopefully, someone will soon figure out how to send captioning signals digitally....

Brought the player home hooked it up all was good for first couple of days.. then it wouldn't play some DVDs or Blurays, the eject would stick and wouldnt load or it would stick and not open. I would try to turn the player on/off to get the Bluray to load and nothing would happen. I had to unplug the player in order to get it to turn off and accept/eject my discs. Def returning for a diff product!
