Rated 4 out of 5★by Razar's Chi Raider I am a huge Chima ravens fan, so this seemed like a perfect gift :D. I was happy to get it for my birthday, as the pics made this set look epic. The Box:Pretty big, around the size of The Daily Bugle Showdown set. Displays the features well, too.The FiguresRazar appears in quite a few sets, so he isn't exactly the main reason for purchase, but having more ravens is fine by me, as he has a hook-hand :D.Rizzo looks pretty cool, with his grabberatus weapon, to steal the Eagle's chi. He has a peg leg, which is a nice addition.Ewar is an awesome eagle - possibly my favourite, I really dig his design, and how it just looks epic. His axe is pretty cool. The Set:The Chi Temple part is a nice build, but not too much to it, really. I like the design, but it could do with a function of sorts, but the sonic cannon for the eagle makes up for it, with a wicked design :DThe giant Raven is basically an opposite to the Eris' Eagle Interceptor (which I will review) and looks really cool. The feet are nice builds, and the cockpit is cool - it has room to hold a raven, without falling out. My only complaints are the large portion of stickers, they are near impossible to place well, and the useless flick-fires, which are in too many sets. The wings are really cool, and are very easy to move, much reminiscent of BIONICLEs from years past.Overall:A really good set, great to go with either the Ultra-striker or the eagle interceptor.Cya next time-CM1 02/08/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★by Razar's CHI raider Wow. Let's get down to it:Minifigures: Beautiful details and unique characters, even between the ravens Rizzo and Razar. Both they and Ewar the eagle give off distinctive vibes about their tribes- Ewar feels clean and regal whereas the ravens look greasy and as if they have had to live in the backs of taverns and sleep in inns for most of their adult lives. Their faces are expressive, too- the eyes betray much about their character which really wasn't necessary for Lego to add, but it added so much depth to characters who would otherwise have been caricatures. The CHI temple is a nice addition, and will certainly make a nice addition to other Chima sets (as part of a larger temple, perhaps?).Ewar's cannon is a cleverly designed little piece which would not look out of place on, say, the back of Eris' eagle interceptor. Now for the raven: What an ugly pile of junk! In all the right ways. It has a consistent colour scheme throughout with touches of green (moss?), which is a very nice touch. It looks as if it was once a noble war machine that had been stripped to the frame, then rebuilt decades later from other vehicles and machines- case in point, the massive engines in its 'chest', and the roll-cage (which, incidentally, looks incredibly cool, as it becomes the 'neck'. Very clever). The beak looks like it's been bolted on. The wings, beak, tail, mechanical feathers, legs and toes are fully maneuverable, making for a set which is easily customizable (you can give it a personality depending on how you pose it). There is a small cubby hole to the rear of the vehicle, in which you can fit a minifigure if he is sitting down (which unfortunately means that Rizzo, with his peg leg, can't sit there). All I'll say is that it is directly next to the twin engines, so no capes are allowed. ;)I must applaud the designers of this set- they did a fantastic job with the look and feel of the CHI raider, and they clearly had a lot of fun with the design.Pros:Beautiful characters with unique spunkTemple adds a lot to the playability and would add a lot to a temple or similar2 CHI shardsAn excellent vehicle full of personality and play valueFun building experienceCons:Um... How does Razar see where he's going? I suppose he has a display screen in his cockpit. No capes!A truly charming set- If you're torn between Chima sets (don't worry- you're not the only one), please consider this one! It was worth MY S$50. 01/13/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★by RAZARS' CHI RAIDER this set is allot of fun its enjoyable the mini figs are outstanding and there is lots of articulation even the toes on the feet move the legs have 2 articulation parts the wings have about 3 different movements and the tail has 3 also the chi engine is great the cargo bay is great to one thing is that it said to put razar in the cockpit and put rizzo in the back but rizzo's peg leg cant sit down right in the back and there's not enough room in the back to stand him so i put rizzo in the front and razar in the backPROS:MINI FIGSBUILD IS ENJOYABLEPRICE IS GREATLOTS OF ARTICULATIONLOTS OF PLAY USEIS LIKE A ROBOT MECH AND A SHIPCONS:THERE IS NONE 01/10/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★by Excellent Addition to Chima Sets Minifigures: Razar, Rizzo, and Ewar. These figures, as with all of the Chima sets, are fantastic. The wings, chest protectors, head pieces, and double sided faces are very well done. My only qualm with the selection of minifigures is that we get these same exact Raven Tribe members with Eris' Eagle Interceptor. Although Rizzo does come with the "Chi Grabber" which is a nice touch.Raider: The raider itself just looks great. The persistent theme of animal faces/heads being incorporated into all vehicles is well done here. The raven head is nicely detailed and its beak can open and close in various ways. I really like the differences in the eagles and ravens as the eagles are very sleek and refined in their machines and the ravens' come off as more harsh and thrown together. The wings and claws are distinctly different from Eris' Interceptor so building both didn't seem repetative in the least. The only problem I have with the raider is that in the back there is a big area to place a minifigure. Unfortunately, Rizzo cannot sit in it because of his peg leg. If the raider is displayed from the side without a figure it looks somewhat empty. Overall though, it's just a fantastic model.Other Stuff: Ewar's Cannon is great little build and goes very well with the other Eagle Tribe arsenal. The small Chi temple is nice and adds a nice element to display instead of just constant vehicles. 01/17/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★by The Awesome Raider! Razar’s Chi Raider is an amazing Chima set, to say the least! I have had it for awhile now and have really enjoyed the uniqueness of it. First off, let’s talk about the Eagle part of the set and then about the Raven part. The set comes with Equila from the Eagle Tribe. He is well designed and quite unique with a double sided head which is common among the Chima animals. He comes with a piece of Chi armor in gold. The set comes with a small Eagle speeder which could be over looked, but it shouldn’t be. The speeder is nicely designed and is quite unique. It is small and has a nice perching system so you can allow it to sit comfortably for poses or otherwise. It is quite sturdy and so good for play. The last Eagle part of the set is the small Eagle Temple. The temple is small and unique. It comes with a small axe, a hauberk. This is probably one of the flimsiest parts of the set and, unfortunately, is hard to pick up and set down. The small archway collapses quite often and makes this part almost unusable. The Raven aspect of the set is the main focus and should be. The set comes with two Ravens, Rizzo and Razar. Both have the double sided head and both have the chi armor (except that theirs is in silver instead). Now we get to the biggest aspect of the set, the Chi Raider. Now, when you first see this you might have said, ‘Bah! This is just a Eris’s Interceptor recolor!’. But you are so wrong. This set is unique and quite different from the Interceptor. Note the picture attached. As you can see the Chi Raider is larger in height then the Interceptor. The design is completely different! They do share the features of having wings, tails, cockpits, etc. but they are different. The Raider does have fewer features then other sets. This was a little bit of a disappointment. The set is relatively sturdy except for the wings on the very out edges and the occasional pop-off of the legs. This can be said to be serious but it is easily repaired. The only other thought I have is that there is nowhere to place the Raven’s wings when they sit down. You can cram the wings into the small crevice behind the cockpit. I would much prefer if they had done something more like what they did on Eris’s Eagle Interceptor where they did put a place for the wings, but unfortunately, they didn’t. Now, for the Pros and Cons.Pros:A relatively good valueTwo pieces of ChiThree pieces of Chi Armor (one gold)The SpeederThe Chi RaiderCons:Fragile pieces that are annoying and inconvenient at timesThe Temple is very fragileOverall I would say that this set is worth your money!(Just a small note that I was unable to post any pictures of the Ravens as, unfortunately, they got into some trouble before I created the pictures). 11/04/2013
