Rated 4 out of 5Â by jtg1968 Very red This shade is VERY red, IMO, but I already have a lot of red in my hair. The first time I colored with this shade, I was shocked at how bright the red was. I was expecting something a little more subtle. I now combine this shade with 1/2 medium brown and it comes out beautifully. I would do a strand test with this shade for sure, since the box picture is quite deceiving. Yes, the smell is unpleasant, but the color is definitely fade-resistant. No brass at all. 02/07/2010
