Installed several years ago during remodel, guess I used it too much and had to replace the tumbler -- such a great feature as the lifetime warranty prevented the expense of a complete new unit -- installed the new tumbler and setting it to the current key is an easy simple process. My rating-- AAA+++

I live at 9000 feet altitude, in the Colorado Rockies where the sun is intense. The function of these exterior handsets has been excellent. The finish stood up for about 15 years on the door handle that is in direct sunlight for most of the day. Once it started to show signs of deterioration, Kwikset replaced it quickly and happily. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] About a dozen years ago when we had the house built, we chose the Commonwealth levers for all doors (about 20 interior and 6 keyed-alike exterior).  As time went on, I've finished out the basement and that meant another 7 interior handles, all, of course, were the Kwikset Commonwealth levers.  We like the convenience of a lever when opening a door with your hands full and being able to use the same key on all of them, especially since a couple have had to be replaced due to constant use (we have a busy household) and re-keying the new locks was a breeze.

Love the lever

Purchased these for all of our exterior doors. Love that you can flip the handle when you have your hands full, instead of trying to turn a knob. Love the handle and finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I reworked all of the interior and exterior locksets in my home and my in-laws home three years ago, replacing the old tired missed matched knob units with the Kwikset Commonwealth units finished in polished brass.  They were easy to install, and fit in the standard doors without difficulty.  Three years later, these units work and look like I just installed them.  I highly recommend you consider these units for your home upgrade projects.

This handle was super easy to install and fells very sturdy. It is also very quiet when turning the lever!

Sturdy, easy to install!

It's been 15 years since we changed all the door handles in our home - inside and out - to the Kwikset Commonwealth.  I believe we have over 20 of them.  In that time we have been nothing less than completely satisfied about our purchases.  The four most commonly-used door handles have had some relatively minor problems, all with difficulty turning the locking button from the inside however, the Kwikset Consumer Care Team replaced each one and in a very short period of time.  They honored the warranty in a way few companies do today (seemingly empathetic a problem occurred and happy to resolve the issue).  I will recommend Kwikset to anyone!

Durable and fashionable!

I have gradually replaced all my exterior door with these striking accents. I have had a minor problem with the set screw in the handle, ONLY on the main, front door. Home Depot was NOT helpful but Ace/ True Value was STUPENDOUS! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Fabulous looks

Bought this model about 2 years ago. Unit is good looking but within 3 months the set screw holding exterior handle on would back out every 3-4 weeks, even after tightening HARD. Finish wore off badly after 1 year too. Kwikset replaced under warranty, no questions. Replacement unit set screw holds fine but finish is wearing badly. Not impressed. Not great

I have 5 of this keyed Venetian Bronze lever units in my house. One each in my two garage access doors leading into the kitchen and nook, 1 each of my 2 attic storage spaces and a fifth on my breakfast nook door leading out to the backyard.

The door leading to the backyard door lock stopped working only under 2 years from my brand new home. The lock lever starts to turn very hard with some weird grinding noise can be heard. At first it would still lock at a quarter turn until it altogether stopped working and the locking switch from the inside of the door would not turn anymore. I have tried using WD40 and other lube to no avail. I can't lock the door leading to my backyard. Luckily I have a secondary deadbolt, also Kwikset. I am reluctant to replace it with another brand for aesthetics reason as all locks and door handles in my hope are on the same bronze lever type theme. Most importantly because my heavy duty main door lock and deadbolt along with the 5 other locking lever doork handles are mastered into a single type of key. I took it to my locksmith and I was told that it is beyond repair and it needs an entire barrel assembly.

I am so disappointed considering all my door knobs from main door, deadbolts, closet handles, bathroom doors, passage doors, media room, office, attic storage doors - all 37 of them are Kwikset lever type venetian broonze handles. Oh, by the way, I had to replace one of my dummy lever handle in my media room after only 6 months of use. My media room is not even a high traffic area facility. .
