I bought this series for my husband for Christmas, we opened it up on Christams Day and have watched the complete first season, already! I love the wholesome stories and wisdom each episode has. Great gift for anyone who remembers the series from the 70's.

I feel this is a great series. I brought this for myself and to my amazement, my daughter wants to see it, and other family members are very interested in borrowing it. It is a well done series. For the money it is well worth it.

I watched this years ago, but had forgotten just how good the show was. So many life lessons learned with Grasshopper's Master teaching the best way to handle situations. Kids today should watch the show to learn patience, humility and respect for others. So glad that I purchased this as I am enjoying seeing it again.

You have two choices for the TV serie Kung fu, is there an upgrade in format or quality picture for this box of Kung fu: The complete series collection when you compare it to the earlier release of Kung fu: Complete seasons 1-3. If so, why is the collection box cheaper? Is it dual layered DVD?

  • A. They are dual layered DVDs. They looked find on my wide screen 32 inch TV.

  • A. Season 1 is widescreen, seasons 2 and 3 are 4:3. In season 1, they cropped the top and bottom of the image to make it widescreen. They should have left it in the original 4:3 aspect ratio so that the full image could be seen as was originally intended by the director. IMHO. As far a I know, there is no difference in format or quality if you buy the complete set, or individual seasons.

  • A. This choice is the entire complete series in one box-set rather then buying them individually. The picture and sound is that of widescreen, dual-layer DVD to preserve original theater aspect ratio. Possibly a walmart deal only available on their website as this showed up pretty much just before the Holidays. The price is cheap because walmart prices tend to be cheap but in this case, I think it was a deal put out just before the Holidays. Yes, it is dual-layer format.
