I bought this mattress for my daughter 5 years ago, and then another for my son 3 years ago. They have used them as trampolines and many other activities and the mattresses have held up surprisingly well. So much so that we will be buying another for our third one. You can't beat the price and neither of my kids have complaints about the comfort!

When I had my first child I bought a very expensive mattress, after finding out I was pregnant again a few months after having my daughter I knew I couldn't afford top of the line stuff at that time for my second child, so I bought this mattress, and it is just as nice as the expensive one!! My son sleeps just as well in his bed as my daughter does in hers! I've had this mattress now for 1 1/2 years and it still looks brand new!!! I even stand in my son's crib almost on a daily basis (to hang his quilt back on the wall, because he rips it down everyday) and it is still as nice and comfy as it was the day I bought it!

Is this mattress ( 80 coil count) firm enough for a new born ? Or should one go for mattress with 150 or above coil count?
    by TobDad 8/14/2012
    • I's say no-def go 150+ coils! DONT waste your money on this mattress!!!

    • In my opinion I would go with one of the extra firm mattresses for a newborn. But once your baby is able to lift and turn his/her head, this mattress is perfectly fine.

    • It's perfect for newborns and up. It's the perfect balance of firm and minimal cushion (don't want the little ones sleeping on a brick). Good luck with your search.

    • No. I actually purchased it for my active 3y/o boy and took it back because its just too flimsy. Great mattress for the price for a newborn, but not for active toddlers

    • I would invest in a twin sizes bed and mattress, if I were you. The toddler beds aren't met to hold much more weight.

    • While it might vary from one crib brand or style to another, there are no gaps between the mattress and the crib I am using. It is a standard size mattress, as is the crib, so I would assume that it would not be an issue.

    • No, it is standard sized so it fits perfectly into both of the different cribs we have for our 2 daughters. There are no gaps, it goes all the way from one edge to the other.

    • There are no gaps with my crib. I bought both cribs from JC Penney this year, and the mattresses fit perfectly.

    • I guess that would depend on the crib that you have. If you look at the warning and product labels on the crib itself it will tell you the size of mattress it holds. It has a minimum and a maximum size I think. This is a standard mattress and the only thing that I noticed different about any others was the thickness.
