Kitty City Climbing Hill 3.7 5 21 25
Flimsy at best I bought this as part of a system. I wanted to build the Combo #9 from the kittycityusa.com website. There's a total of 9 modules in this combo pack, this unit making up three of the nine. I ended up spending nearly $180 for everything. The only instructions I had for building the whole combination unit was a 20 minute video with no audio on their website. You have no idea where the parts they're using are coming from. After 2 hours I finally got it put together. I could tell the individual units were lightweight and flexible but I hoped as I put it all together they'd reinforce each other. When it was finished it was still so flimsy my cats were terrified of it and wouldn't use it. The one time one of them got near the top he fell through because the only thing holding that part together was a strip of Velcro. It might be ok for kittens or VERY small cats, but no way a 15-20 pound cat will enjoy this thing. It rattles and shakes and slides across the floor every time they touch it. Returning to store! One extra note on this particular item: I expected something other than netting for the cats to climb on. I taught my cats not to climb on my window screens, which this material is very similar to. That might be one reason why they never tried to climb up it, or just the fact that it was so flimsy, or both. In either case I think if your cats get used to climbing on this you might have a problem with them clawing your window screens in the future. Fortunately for me my cats are very well behaved and remembered what I taught them. 10/13/2009
The only thing good was the toy ball! I put it together it and got the sleepy corner one too. They both felt really cheap and not sturdy at all. I placed my cat on top of it and it fell over.. hes only about 8 pounds (full grown cat) the only thing he liked was playing with the balls. he didn't like the scratcher.. every time he scratched the stupid thing fell over. I'll just buy him a pack of the balls with the money i save when i bring this back. 05/14/2010
I am not at all happy with the climbing hill. The structure doesn't bend enough to plug into other pieces. The tautness of that curve that makes it a climber makes it impossible for the piece to stay attached to the other sections. 05/02/2012
Bad & Broken Materials; Not Worth the Money We thought this would be a great product for our cat, since you can buy them a piece at a time and build a playplace for Kitty. However this was not so. When we opened the box for this product, what we found was a bunch of cheap materials. Still we decided to set it up. The support poles that are curved in the picture are not curved enough, and the ones that came with ours were broken, like someone had bent them. It was hard to put together as none of the poles wanted to fit together.Once we got it set up, and our Kitty began playing with it, we discovered two things: One) Our cat, who is just small-average size was nearly too big to use this, and Two) she could move it all around the floor! Its not stable at all and we would have had to put a large rock in the center or nail it down to keep it still. It was ridiculous!Needless to say, we took it back, along with the other two Kitty City products I had ordered. I figured since this one was this bad, they wouldn't be any better. Its cheap yes, but I strongly recommend that you save your money and buy your cat a quality toy. That's what I'm going to do. 04/21/2012
