This grill, used twice now has produced the best grilled food we've ever prepared. The unique coal pan that can be raised and lowered is likely the key to why nothing got overdone and came out better than expected. It does take a bit longer to cook, but it's worth it because there was little or no blackened meat, tender and juicy inside all likely due to the fact that we could lower the coals all the way down to make the grill cook like an oven. The temperature gauge is also very convenient because it lets you know what's going on inside the closed lid without having to open it and let all the heat out. There is ample room on the grate, probably more than the large Weber we used to have plus an upper grate for buns or warming of veggies, etc. Would fit two large racks of ribs easily with room to spare. Raising and lowering the coal grate is so easy and actually quite fun with the crank handle. When done grilling, raise the coals all the way up and burn off the grate. Sweet! The door in the front allows for convenient access to the coals, either to add more coals or toss wood chips on for smoke flavor. There are 4 dampers, allowing for various combinations to control the burn rate, very nice. The side table is not huge but plenty big enough to put most necessary items used while grilling including a large platter and sauces. Below the side table/shelf are cute little hooks for the utensils to hang on. The shelf below the grill is quite sturdy for storing heavy bags of coals, etc. The handles on the lid and on the left side used to drive the grill are also very solid. Surprisingly, the entire grill is solid, not flimsy at all. For the price, hard to go wrong with this grill. Overall, we're very impressed and the fact that the meat turned out so well is a huge bonus.

    Pretty Nice

I purchased this grill last weekend. It was very easy to assemble though the instructions contain pictures only and no actual written procedures. It took me about 1.5 hours to assemble it by myself while throwing back a few cold ones. I wasn't sure about a Kingsford grill as most sites always reference Weber and Char-broil. I can say I'm very happy with this purchase and think it is worth more than the actual cost. The grill is very sturdy and well made. The only plastic parts are the feet and wheels; everything else is metal. I really wanted a grill with an adjustable tray so I have even more control over the heat and this grill fits the bill. It even has a bottle opener for those beverages that don't have twist off caps. It will easily hold 12, 1/4lb burgers. I guess the only cons would be not having a shelf on the left side, a brush to help clean up ash, and a cover. I’d definitely suggest using a power drill and you’ll also need a socket set for some nuts. I guess now I just wait and see how it holds up over time.

    Not A Bad Deal

Not a bad deal for $94 dollars, and being a Kingsford, and too, found in my local store. Had minor damage to bottom storage rack that I straightned out with my hand. Like other reviews state, DO NOT loose any screws/bolts because there are NO extras. Took about two hours to assemble. Could have been less had I not been watching the show Cheaters.

    • the box says you need a phillips screwdriver, a pair of pliers, and an adjustable wrench. I used a socket set with an 4" extender and a 3/16"box wrenth to keep the nut from spinning. I also used an electric screwdriver with a 4" phillips bit. Goes pretty quick!

    • You need a Phillips head screwdriver and an adjustable wrench. Takes about 2 hours. I assembled by myself without a problem even though the instructions indicate one part needs two people.
