The Nighthawk Explosive Gas Alarm shows the level of carbon monoxide present in the air and helps you prepare for an evacuation if need. All this can be seen with just the press of a button. The carbon monoxide gas detector can be placed in any AC outlet of your convenience. The gas sensor in the alarm also detects levels of methane and propane in the air. The digital display on the alarm is easy to read and shows the exact recorded levels of carbon monoxide.

Excellent product I need to replace one of the two nighthawk detectors that I have had for the last 8 years as it has an error message of "Err" after 7 years of use which means it needs to be replaced. A lot of people complain that these detectors have a lot of false alarms however this is not the case with the 3 that I have owned over the last 10 years. One of mine went defective after a couple of years of use and I called up Kidde and they sent me a replacement free of charge since they have a 5 year warranty on each of them. 05/23/2010
Confusing Product I've had this detector for a year and it has had numerous false alarms. I've had to call the Gas company out many times and it was all for nothing. It went off last night at 11pm, waking my ten month old. The directions are very long, very confusing. I plan on buying a new one soon, but not this brand. 04/15/2010
Looking for this product for some time I'm a retired Fire Chief and been looking for this particuular dector for carbonmonoxide and gas detectors. What I got from Walmart.com was just what I was looking for and am very satisfied with them. 04/15/2011
Normally excellent product short-changed Have used the similar model CO detector in my home,ever since it first came out. With this new model, it appears that they tried to save on copper, by shortening the wire, between the plug-in transformer and the detector. As a result, the unit could not be mounted in the exact same place as always done previously. This would have resulted in remounting, plastering, painting. Instead, I chose to splice in a section of wire to allow the new unit to be installed where the old unit had been, with the wiring hidden through wire channel, between the outlet and the upper area of the wall, next to doorway trim, central to all bedrooms. This will have no bearing on NEW installations. 01/19/2011
