There is so much included in this set. It was very easy to put the table together and it is sturdy and very well made. It does not look cheap at all. Real Wood! The tracks, trains, and scenery pieces are high quality and so cute. The collapsable bridge it awesome. I like that this had two layers. I got this set cause there were parts of it that my son could grow into. He loves it and plays with it every day. The track is sturdy but he is also able to destroy it which he loves doing too. The only down side is that the instruction on putting the building pieces together was a little difficult to read and I had to actually look up the product on Walmart.com and zoom in to make sure that I got the building right. Overall LOVE IT and what a value for the price. And I got it in literally 3 days! But I live in Houston and it came from Irving, TX Just 6 hours north.

just finish putting this together for Christmas. I'm so excited I want my grandson to play with it now! How ever I do have a few pieces missing. I left a message for kidkraft waiting on them to call me on Monday. If they dont have great customer I will be back on here with an updated review!!! P.s Im not a person to put things together but I did this all by myself!!! That's how easy it was but I agree the building directions are complicated have your computer close by to pull up the picture!!

The train table is everything you could want. My 3 year old grandson is over the moon about it!! My only two complaints are the instuctions were a little hard to follow when putting the buildings together. The building instructions would have been easier if they were in color. I wish there had been a color picture of the layout of the finished project. The instructions don't tell you to not tighten the screws on the table too hard. If you over tighten the table screws it will cause the pieces to split so only hand tighten. I know my grandsons will enjoy this toy for years to come. I am soooo glad I purchased it. I would also recommend purchasing either Thomas the Train or Chuggington trains to go with it because the trains included are very cheaply made.

First of all I was a little unsure about this large toy...but my children love it. The directions were a challenge...they dont label the pieces as said on the paper and we received wrong pieces. The box that comes with it is nice, however it doesnt stay on the provided drawer like area. If you are interested in this type of toy I would shop around and get the best quality one you can afford...it will pay off in the long run!

This train set was bought for my 3 yrd old for x-mas 2011. My husband and i got up super early to set it up before he woke up just to find that it had half of the train tracks missing. Some of the pieces also broke in the process of delivery. They feel very fragile to me for a 3yr old. Also, the tray that is suppose to slide under the table wont stay up. its not wide enough. we had to leave it under on the floor. Kidcraft had excellent customer service and is in the process of delivering the missing/ broken parts i just wish they had put a little more attention when packaging so i wouldnt have to give my son a partial gift. 1 or 2 parts missing is okay but half of the train set is too much. I reccomend ordering this in advance if its a gift so u wont have to go thru this.

  • A. The box fit in my Honda Civic's trunk. I don't know how big a Toyota Corolla's trunk is but it would probably fit there too. If not, it will definitely fit in the back seat provided that there are no baby car seats in the back seat.

I want this for my 3 1/2 year old (tall for her age) grand daughter and wondered if it can also be used for lego building and/or coloring? It appears to set very low to the ground.. would chairs fit under it?
by an anonymous customer 12/16/2011

  • A. Table height is approximately sixteen (16) inches. Chairs will not fit under this table. Using the table top for Lego Building or coloring is fine for a small child but they would have to stand or sit next to the table.

  • A. The chairs won't fit under it, but my children use the chairs from their miniature card table around it when they are playing. It sets them next to it, but they don't fit under the table itself. Yes, you can use it for lego building and for coloring. You would have to put the lego bases on the table and build from there. Or just play with them without the base. The table is flat, it doesn't have the lego "pops" to click them to. My daughter (6 years old) also colors while her brothers are playing. So, it is a very versatile play table. The drawer beneath can be used for anything.

  • A. It is 16 inches off the floor so i doubt that it will fit kids chairs under. The top of the train track is a very thin wood so coloring might not be a good idea because u might get marks underneath. Lego building will be fine. My son is also 3 and tall for his age but he seems to fit it just fine!! I dont have pictures for u cause i had to dissasemble it to order parts. Sorry!

  • A. I would be a great table for putting Legos together on. I would not recommend coloring on it fearing the colors would get scribbled on the already nicely painted background. Little chairs would not fit under this table.

  • A. This toy is probably more suitable for children that are pre-elementary school. A 7 year old would be bored with it and most like would want an electric train set.

  • A. I got this for my 3 yr old. He loves it. My 8 yr old plays with it, but he was really never into trucks, trains, and cars like my other son. I would have to say that this toy is more for younger children, but if your child enjoys these types of activities and pretend play he may enjoy it just as much as little children.
