    Great Toddler Bed Great buy. My son went from his crib to this bed with no problems. He truly believes he is a fire fighter so it was only natural to buy this. It did take my husband about an hour to assemble - and he is pretty handy. Of course he had the 3 year old climbing all over him while he was working. It is adorable and well made. My husband thought it was a waste of money until he built it and saw our little guy so happy. Walmart had the cheapest price and with ship to store I didn't pay for shipping. You may need help getting it into the back of your car, it weighs about 40 lbs. The box may not fit in a compact. We have an SUV so no problem. Best wishes! 05/07/2008
    Being a firefighter myself I couldnt wait to buy my son a fire truck bed. He was thrilled when I put it together, but wont sleep in it. He'll fall asleep in it, but I find him sleeping on the floor next to it late every night when I check on him. The bed is small with the crib mattress and he'll outgrow it in a year. Next time I'll buy a regular size mattress and keep it on the floor or put rails up on a regular bed. The online purchase and shipping went flawless, it arrived exactly when it said it would. 08/13/2007
    Great construction and so cute! My son started sleeping in this bed around 18 months old (almost a year ago) and loves it. It's heavy and very sturdy, so much that I lay in bed with him sometimes and never feel like I'm going to break it. :)I like that it's very easy for him to climb in and out. The other Step2 fire truck bed seems like it would be difficult for a 2-year-old to get in and out of.It was easy to put together, although it was missing a screw out of the box. KidKraft mailed us a replacement and it came pretty quickly.My only complaint is that the space under the bed is too small for an adult hand to fit under. So, my son pushes books and toys under there and I can't get them out. And the bed is heavy so it's inconvenient to lift it up to get them out.Overall a great bed for a toddler - price, construction, and cuteness!! 12/08/2009
