She's only 4 so we put it together and wrapped it assembed before Christmas. One reason for this is that I knew this would be her favorite gift, but also because the box was almost destroyed in shipping. We didn't want her to see the box in that shape and also wanted to make sure the item wasn't damaged. The easel was packed well so the ripped up box didn't impact it at all, but it looked bad when I picked it up. 12/25/2009
