    Customer Product Reviews

    Rated 4.7 out of 5★ by 1027reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Glad we bought this years ago Hi I had to write a new review after seeing the negative ones here! We bought this for Christmas for our now 7 year old girl several years and houses ago. It is solid REAL wood approx 1/4" thick, not particle board, we do have enough knowledge to know the difference. It did take us a while to put together Christmas morning, but it is very sturdy and my 4 kids play with it often. My oldest is an autistic, not gentle boy, unless your kids are going to just TRY to be destructive and break it, it should not...Over the years only one piece has broken, the little box that fits in the fridge door to be the water and ice maker. If I had the time and desire I could easily fix it. We've moved several times, have never had to retighten anything, and this kitchen still looks very nice and is played with so much that this year for Christmas all of the food and dishes are being replaced! Oh, and several play tables even solid wood ones haven't lasted like this kitchen, so we are getting a new one of those too. We do have the wood toaster that is in the ad photo and my picture below, it DOESN'T come with the kitchen, it is super cute, also several years old, even though it's more expensive than other options I think it's a better choice since it still works and others are long gone, and still makes great toast if you have a some imagination, or a stomach for wood grain toast! Your kid(s) and you should be pleased, and this will stand up to time and many, many, many tasty treats and meals!I just went down to take a current pic, I looked for worn spots, or chipped off paint areas, but I COULDN'T find any. The second pic is of one of the magnets enclosed in a small wood stopper to hold the oven door closed, (I wish my expensive furniture was built like that so my toddler wasn't always bringing me magnets!) it also shows the hinge for the cabinet door, and the colored screw caps on the inside, I remember being impressed with that. The screws for the back or outside are painted the color of the wood they belong to, but the ones for inside of the play area have paint matching caps to look even nicer and protect the kiddoes. Seriously I think she was only 3 when we got this for her. Enjoy! 10/29/2009
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great Kitchen This kitchen is AWESOME! I bought my daughter one of the more expensive plastic kitchens last year for her birthday and after a year I was sick of it. So, I started looking around and I found this one. I was amazed at how much storage space this kitchen provided, and how realistic the burners and faucet were. Those plastic kitchens don't even compare to this piece. The refrigerator door is just my 3 year olds size and she don't have to bend down or reach up to far. I looked at the lower priced kidkraft kitchens and I would not even consider them because for a few extra dollars you get so much more! 11/03/2008
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Play Kitchen This is a BIG kitchen. I got this for my 1 year olds birthday. She needs a steppy stool to reach the sink and stove top but she still plays with it and her brother , who is 8, can play with it with her too so if you want a kitchen that will be usable through multiple ages or children and is very hard wearing this one is a good value.A tip for construction, the bottom goes metal pieces UP tword the top. The pictures don't show which way to turn it, also there are some bolts and nuts which go in the sides of the yellow cabinet, be sure you have those in first before you tighten the counter top on. 08/25/2009
Rated 3 out of 5★ by My husband and I bought this kitchen for our daughter for Christmas and it wasn't as high quality as I expected after reading the reviews and product description. As usual, it is particle board and not real wood. One of the pieces did crack and some of the exterior broke off and exposed the particle board which we were not pleased with and several of the screws were too long and left dented areas in the doors. Once the kitchen was together it was too cute but I hope it lasts through my daughters childhood. Overall, it is an okay kitchen but it just wasn't the quality I was expecting. 12/23/2008
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great for the little chef I got this kitchen for my 5yo daughter for Christmas, and she absolutely loves it. She has used it non-stop since she got it, and it hasn't lost any of it's charm (or any of its pieces) for her. It looks great once it's all together, and it seems to be made to last for the long haul.I've got to say, this play set assembled easier and more precisely than any other set of this type I've ever dealt with. The quality of the parts and the way the set was designed is nearly flawless, there was no struggling to get it to all go together, no loosening up an earlier piece to get a later piece to wedge into place, it simply fit precisely and perfectly. The assembly manual was very good too, there were only a couple of times I had to look closely to see what the assembly details were. There were two pieces missing from the original packaging when I received the kitchen, but KidKraft's web site has an easy-to-find, easy-to-use form for requesting replacement & missing parts (no charge, and no questions asked!). The parts arrived in just a few days, well-packaged and protected. The customer service for this company is simply outstanding, a huge plus for this purchase. After getting this kitchen, and especially after my experience with KidKraft's customer service, I won't hesitate to recommend their product lines to any other parents in the market for a playset kitchen. 04/13/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Very pleased! My two year old is rather tall, so I searched all of the toy kitchens to ensure that she would not outgrow it too quickly.I must say I am very happy that I chose this one. It's very sturdy and made to be more realistic in structure. I'm sure my 37 inch tall two year old will still love it when she's a tall 5 year old as well. I see it holding up for the years to come!! 10/19/2009
Rated 5 out of 5 Over All - Daughter Loves it There is only one real problem, the screws.... a few of them have fallen out, but we simply used wood glue to glue the handles and havent had a problem since... My three year old daughter is tall for her age (the same height as her 5 year old friend) And this is still a terrific sixe for her, i can see her using it for many more years. Also i run a home daycare and my youngest girl is 1 year, she loves it as well.... they all do. And its very sturdy, yes it is partical board but my daughter is a monkey and has climbed to the top many times, and usually manages to talk some daycare kids into getting up there with her. This is waaaay better than those cheap plastic kitchens. 04/01/2009
Rated 1 out of 5★ by piece of junk I bought this kitchen for my six year old (not from Walmart) despite the neg. reviews because it looked so adorable. I wish I hadn't made that decision. My daughter, now seven, is not destructive and would in no way intentionally do damage to her beloved kitchen (that she wanted for Christmas sooo bad). So, I was shocked that within a week or two, the first door broke off, then the second, then the third. It is due to the thin wood that breaks right off when you open the door. It takes a bit of a yank to open due to the catch on the other side of the door and when you pull it, the door pops right off. We have not been able to repair the doors due to the split wood. This kitchen had the potential to be a wonderful set but falls very short in quality. I would have been better off buying one of those plastic ones. In short, buy something else, or you will be stuck with a broken kitchen like I am.....The following pictures show just one example of the way the wood splits and breaks, leaving the kitchen unrepairable. The woman's picture in the last review, shows much different hinges and connections on her doors-maybe she has a different set or replaced the hinges on hers but those are not the ones that came with our kitchen less than one year ago. 11/13/2010
