This blender is attractive and functional. Unfortunately it has a serious flaw. The blend head is not completely sealed at the bottom or top, yet can't be disassembled for cleaning. Food enters the blend head via a crack at the bottom and can't be cleaned out. I'm returning mine.

This stick blender is great. My only complaint is that it gets warm if used for over one minute straight. The directions specify to use 1 minute max, then let cool for 10 minutes. While the typical use is less than a minute, I sometimes go longer (like when making apple sauce or pureeing strawberries for a smoothie).

This is definitely better than some blenders I've owned, but it's also the noisiest!

Stick blenders come in a wide variety of prices. I went for simple and inexpensive. This is a great product and at only $15 my bargain of the month! Works perfectly and is easy-peasy to clean. Very cute too!

It has 2 speeds to get the job done. It blends ice and frozen fruit to a creamy sensation. It works great. A lot better than I thought it would. I almost bought a L' Equip blender for $69.99 on sale but got this instead. I am not at all sorry I did. This was only $15 and it works great. I highly recommend it.

This has just the right balance of form factor and power to enable me to blend the smoothies and shakes I want right in their cups. Took a long time to find one that would fit these demands, and this is the one.

This little item is a must in the kitchen when you don't really need the mixer. The value is great when I compared it to others costing much more. I am very happy with this purchase.

A great kitchen tool at a great price! Lightweight and easy to use -- perfect for soups and smoothies. Be sure to use a deep container while blending to prevent splashing!

    • A. It works much like a regular blender, so whether you could puree food with it would depend on how much liquid is in the food. If it would work in a blender, it would work with this.

    • A. I think so, because it makes very smooth soups from chunky broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus -- just need to stir when finished blending to check for any chunks you may have missed.

    • A. Absolutely. And the best part is being able to clean the blade-part in the dishwasher to ensure that it is sanitized.

    • A. I think so. The blades are powerful enough to pulverize most vegetables and soft meats. These "narrow nose" blender sticks are getting harder to come by, so having at least one in your arsenal is a wise idea 8-)

I'm looking for a stick blender that I can use to make my own mayo. This particular one seems to be more for chopping than blending or whisking...does anyone know if this blender will work for me?

    • A. I made squash soup with it. It was very easy and took no time at all. I don't know why it wouldn't work to make your mayo.

    • A. Just so all you guys know...I've now used this stick blender to make delicious mayonnaise on several occasions, and it does a really good job. You just have to remember to use 2 or 3 second bursts, but no longer. within 30 or 40 seconds, I can have a really tasty, thick mayonnaise with this stick blender.

    • A. The stick blender has a blade similar to that in a normal blender, which does cut and chop and puree. "Mixing" is usually done with a mixer of some sort, from a spoon, to a whisk, to a hand mixer to a stand mixer. So this is not really the right tool for making mayonnaise or other mixing jobs.

    • A. hi - the kalorik stick blender is perfect for blending! i use it for smoothies and to puree hot soups. i don't see why it wouldn't work for mayo. i don't think it's powerful enough for cake or cookie batters but for blending softer consistencies it works excellent.

    • A. I have not tried homemade mayo, but it is a wonderful little blender for small jobs. I wouldn't say it was a chopper, more of a blender.
