Rated 3 out of 5 by MiGayle Two out of three.... I wish we had three separate reviews for the three items, but I will review each one here anyway. The main reason I bought this was for the coffee pot. The fact that it came with a toaster AND some other item (I wasn't entirely sure what it was until I got it home) was a bonus, plus I love happy bright colors. Win-win! I thought.Turns out, the bonus items are the win-wins. The toaster is awesome. I love the fact that it has extra wide slots for bagels, and the neat little trick where you can twist the two metal racks up just to heat up something rather than putting it IN the toaster is genius! My favorite and most used item is the kettle. You can boil up to 57 oz of water at one time. It doesn't whistle or anything like the old fashioned kettles, and automatically clicks off once it reaches boiling point. Usually I'm a coffee girl, because it keeps me from harming people, but I've had to drink a lot of hot chocolate and tea lately because the coffee maker.. *sigh* total let down. This coffee pot takes cone filters, so you know up front. These cost more. Not a problem, because whatever it takes to make the perfect cup of coffee to start my day right, I'm willing to invest in. My co-workers appreciate this. I have coffee when I get in to work, but if I don't have it before I leave the house, things are NOT pleasant. The glass pot does not slide easily into its slot, you almost have to bend over counter level to make sure it goes in straight, and doesn't drip coffee down the sides to burn into the warmer. Even after this, you still have to watch it, because sometimes it drips down the sides ANYWAY. You almost have to force it in, which makes me nervous because I don't want to break it. Since I had to order this online, it's not like I can run into the store and get a replacement pot. I don't really have time to sit and watch the coffee pot make coffee just to make sure it doesn't make mistakes, so this is frustrating. The lid to the compartment where you pour the water in does not close flush with the coffee pot, so steam comes out several openings while it's percolating. No matter how you close it, there's about a centimeter opening around the entire lid, which covers the water and the coffee grounds. This means you have to add about a cup more water than the actual amount of coffee you plan to make, because the steam escapes and you end up with stronger or less coffee. It's not consistent.Overall, I do NOT like the coffee pot, except for the color. I plan to find a way to eliminate the cord, and set it on the shelf as a small fish tank for a beta or something, and find another coffee maker. 01/31/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by CookinKit I bought this toaster due to a review from a cooking show I watch. Nice surprise to get the bonus set. The toaster is all I have used thus far. I like the way it browns, wide slots. even has a cancel and a defrost button! There is this neat rack can be lifted on top to warm a bun. How thoughtful is that? One year warranty, keep receipt. Nice. All the expensive toasters I have purchased I could have saved money an purchased a Kalorik. Highly recommend this toaster. Will write a review when I use the coffee and water heating pot. 08/31/2012
