Rated 5 out of 5 by mommykat11 Medium Brown Roots be GONE! I have been highlighting my naturally med brown hair on and off for years. The cost is getting absurd and I'm tired of the upkeep. Its been 3 months since my last $150 highlight at the salon and I measured and had 2 inches of roots showing, next to the blonde my natural color looks black even though its really classified as medium brown. I found this stuff and was SO nervous to try it. It says right on the bottle BLONDES ONLY! Not suitable for medium to dark brown hair! I thought for sure it would turn my head a nasty shade of orange. I decided what do I have to lose ... I sprayed it just on my bangs and my roots..parting my hair in sections, spraying then combing thru. I followed up with a blowdry and when I lifted my head after the very first time I was shocked I already noticed a difference. Esp in my bangs. Which I also used a hot iron on. I used it again the next day, same technique and voilia! dark blonde/light brown roots. Now I have to be honest, in some bathroom lights I am like WOW! I LOVE IT! and then I will go to a different bathroom with diff. lights in the house and go..wow, that is brassy! So, i'm not really sure how it TRULY looks, but my 6 yr old daughter noticed and told me I looked like a beautiful princess! ha. My ends are VERY dry from the blowdry 2 days in a row even though I didn't use the product on my ends...they do need a trim though, been 5-6 weeks. I am giving my head a rest for a day or two then I"m gonna try one more app on my bangs and part line to see if I can get the brassiness to disappear totally. I'm just afraid it will turn blonde and that isnt' really what I want, I wanted more of a gradual lightening from my roots to my highlighted hair.I would NEVER use this if I didn' thave highlights in my hair...I would think going from brown to blonde would be way too much for a head of hair..not look natural...and turn orange first. Also, i wouldn't recommend it on any type of damaged hair or ends, it is peroxide and then you are applying damaging heat to it on top of that to make it work. Have a really good deep conditioner to follow up with the next day to help hair recover.Overall, i'm quite pleased with the results. I'm sure my hairdresser will have a cow and hate that I did this...of course she is loosing $150 of highlight profit. I will still have to highlight my hair...but hopefully with this new product, I can only do it 2 times a year instead of 4 or more. 07/03/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by jlynk john frieda sheer go blonder lightening spray I have been using nice n easy to get my medium brown hair to a blonde color. but since I found this product I will just use it..after FIRST use, you could notice it was lighter...and each time I use it, it continues to lighten it..I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT and will never go back to boxed color...simple to use..I am a 60 year old great grandma and I have been coloring my hair since I was about 14..so a long time and this is the BEST PRODUCT I have ever used.I am also using the lightening Shampoo, which I did use prior to buying the spray...both products are ok..will be buying the conditioner and another bottle of the spray.. 04/25/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wickedsweetpea Ruined my hair. Lost hair from use. I'm really surprised that this product received great reviews. I had only used it for a month. I did not overuse it. My hair was in great condition until I purchased and used this product. I was simply looking to give my roots a lighter look. After a month and had used less than 1/2 a bottle....my hair started to fall out at the roots. This is common for some who have used this product. Check out Amazon's reviews. It's more common than you think. I have stopped using the spray a few months ago and my hair is still damaged and left with a nasty sticky film at the roots. Good luck to those using this. Side note: My hair was not color treated or anything with chemicals upon using the product. 02/04/2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by vondel789 Love it! I was naturally blonde until college (now 33) I have been dying my hair blonde for years now, a few times a year. I have very dark blonde hair or very light brown hair. This product worked great! After 4 uses I have no roots!!! I will be using this from now on. I did not use a hot iron or a curling iron, just the blow dryer for a minute or two. 07/31/2011
