For the first 3 days I could barely move and doing things was hard because my muscles hurt so much. After that it got a little easier and slowly I noticed I could do more and more without being winded. While I didn't notice a big weight drop in the first week or so I did notice that my close were fitting better and could see a change happening. I as well as a lot of friends on myfitnesspal.com use it and all love the results we are seeing from her workout. I am still on level 1 and am looking forward to levels 2 and 3. This is one of the best weight loss things I have bought and am loving it.

  • A. You will need hand weights. I use 3 pound weights. You will also need a mat if you are exercising on a hard surface.

  • A. All you need are 2 hand weights. I suggest 2-3 lb hand weights. They are used in conjunction with lunges and other exercises.

  • A. Just some hand weights, and if you're on carpet, that's it. If you're on a hard floor, you'll need a mat or thick towel. For the first 2 workouts I used full water bottles for weights.

  • A. A mat and some hand weights. The weight is up to you. With a lot of reps some excercises I could use a 3 pounder, but I use 5's most of the work out.

I'm ordering a weight training video of Jillian's and I want to get an aerobic video as well so I can do both. Is this one mostly aerobic or what? If not do you know a tape that is?

  • A. It uses both weights and aerobics it also has some ab work too. This is a hard video but in a great way. The video can be used for weight training and aerobics for maximum calorie burn.

  • A. As she explains on the DVD, it is a 3-2-1 system, meaning it incorporates aerobic, strength training, and abs. I, personally, thought it did an excellent job keeping my heart-rate up, even during the strength training exercises.

I'm debating between which one I want to buy and can't decide, what are the main differences between the two?

  • A. I'm not 100% sure but I think that the "Ripped in 30 Days" would be more like sets of body building workouts to help tone up or tighten up your body and the "30 Day Shred" would be a set of workouts to take off or loose weight more than tone them up... That's not saying that both DVDs wouldn't help you tone up and/or loose weight but each one kinda targets that certain result that you want...

  • A. 30 day shred (On level 1, cuz that's as far as I've gotten# has abs #regular, bicycle, & reverse#, squats, jumping jacks, jump rope #without the rope), some light weight lifting. It's basically 3 minutes cardio, 2 minutes strength, and 1 minute abs over and over again for a total of 25-30 minutes of workout. I'm sorry I can't help with the ripped in 30, but I would think it'd have more ab workout and probably more weights. To me "shred" says weight loss while "ripped" says toning.

  • A. Ripped is 30 is a little bit more advanced than 30 day shred. If you are just starting out I would go with 30 day shred first and then move on to Ripped in 30.

  • A. I haven't tried the "Ripped in 30", but boy do I want to! the "30 Day Shred" is a 25 minute workout. I didn't get much weight loss on it (using 3lb hand-weights), even when I built up the strength to do all three levels IN ONE DAY. I say try the Ripped in 30 and post results!

  • A. A previous reviewer is correct in that there are different moves in the Ripped in 30 than in the 30 Day Shred. There are similar moves but also different ones. There is also four levels in the Ripped in 30 then in the 30 Day Shred. I've done both. the 30 Day Shred came first and then the Ripped in 30. I recommend you get BOTH. They're super cheap. Go through the 30 Day Shred and then move to the Ripped in 30 to change it up. They're amazing!!!
