Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5★áby 3reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★áby love this stereo !!! awesome value. YOU WILL NEVER MISS CD'S WIRELESS IS THE WAY TO GO!!!I UPDATED THE FIRMWARE WITHIN MINUTES OF INSTALLING IT.you can find the update here http://www3.jvckenwood.com/english/car/support/navi/r50/index.htmleverything works as advertised only problem is no tags over bluetooth on android except with pandora not a big deal though(this is most likely my phone ymmv).works with a USB hub.sounds great and even better after i got new jvc speakers.bluetooth calling is great no complaints from callers on quality. phone book and calls list on the unit is nice.two phones can be connected at the same time and the unit can light up different colors for each phone when it rings. the illumination has almost infinite color settings and different colors for day and night with dimmer if you hook it up to headlights.i am very satisfied with this it does more than i expected and the price is the icing on the cake. 05/01/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★áby I'm in love I had my car stereo broken(failed attempted robbery). So I needed a replacement. My last one was a JVC, so i figure I would know what to expect when quality is a concern. If you had a JVC before the wiring should be exactly the same.If you have a vast CD, cassette, 8Track collection this is not for you. However, if you're somewhat technologically knowledgeable this Media Receiver is the closest to perfect as of now.Junk drive= Sounds great, Shows Folder then the file Tittle. It has an odd way of sorting; unless you sort all your music in different Folders. Which is time consuming if you don't have it that way already. I'm not a big fan of junk drives, never the less It charges phones, and other USB devices quickly.Aux=No distortion, no problems.Bluetooth=Music=Works with my htc phone. However, it only works well if you store all your music on your phone or use pandora. I can't get it to work for Spotify. Although, I cannot find any car stereo that is fully compatible with Spotify. Sadly for now Aux is the only way to go.Calls: For receiving and sending it works smoothly. The Media Receiver comes with a mic. I suggest you get a voice recognizer package/app for your phone so you don't have to mess with the phone too much. If you have siri or Skyvi(android); It's all hands-free.Face= It looks so good, various color changes, the screen looks perfect and everything is clearly visible. Be aware that the face plate does not come off.In closing: It comes with the common JVC remote.Sadly, I was not able to test out the compatibility with iphone/ipad/ipod.I'm not a radio fan; so i haven't been able to test out the HD radio. The only two negatives that I see is that it doesn't sync with spotify, but I don't know any other Receiver that does. Also the fact that the face plate doesn't come off, it can probably catch a thieves eyes.Overall it's a great piece of hardware if you're not into CD's. If you're a CD fan there's other cheaper options out there so steer clear or make the change. 09/27/2012
Rated 4 out of 5★áby Great when the bluetooth works With much anticipation I purchased this unit and installed it in my cherokee without any problems.I love this stereo however the bluetooth option is giving me some problems. I can pair my phone with it no problem but all of a sudden without any reason it just drops the bluetooth connection. I can be parked and connected and speaking on my phone through its system and it will just drop the phone. When you try to reconnect all you get is error error error. Not until I actually go in and delete my phone from the stereo and set it all up again will it pair...when i do that it lasts for maybe a day and then the same thing happens. I am finding myself having to do this on a daily basis. I am thinking about returning the stereo because the fact it had bluetooth connectivity was one of my main reasons for purchasing it. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2. I am not sure if that is the problem or not. I am going to try my friends phone and see if it stays connected or not.If anyone has experienced this problem and has a remedy please let me know..thanks 03/26/2012
