Ironman Dakota Massage Table 4.6 5 30 38
What a Great Surprise This product's quality and value was a great surprise. My husband has been going to physical therapy and needed something sturdy to exercise on at home since the floors are not an option. (too hard, too hard to get up from). This table is much sturdier than expected; much easier to take up and down and carry around. We love it. When we started looking for a massage table we thought we'd have to spend 4-5 hundred dollars. Took a chance on Wal-mart and were very pleased. 11/17/2010
No no no. I was also excited about the price. But it did not feel right from the beginning. My concerns were justified, because, aside from smelling with a very strong smell, the table was terribly UNCOMFORTABLE. I am an expert and know what I am talking about because have given and received over 1,000 massages and I have placed myself on at least 20-30 tables in my lifetime. This is by far the worst - it is VERY hard and uncomfortable. It didn't even feel like the foam is giving in, not even a bit, under my body's weight. The face cradle is too high and there is nothing you can do about that level even if you tilt it, but most importantly it's terribly hard and, yes, uncomfortable. I tried to put extra fleece on the table and cradle, but it just doesn not compare to what a table should feel like. The smell is going away after a week being on the balcony. I put this on craigslist and ordered a new different table the same day I got it. DO NOT get it if you're not in denial what a table must feel like. All these good reviews must be blinded by the price! Learn from my mistake: whether it's for your own pleasure or for your clients, or both - invest in a good table, you'll only benefit! 01/02/2011
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR- NOT FOR PROFESSIONAL USE I purchased this table as a "go table" to bing to an event that I was working. I was already bringing my office table and massage chair but wanted a second table to handle overflow. I did not want to spend alot of money on this second table so I tried to go the cheap route and the expression "you get what you pay for" applies to this table. The dimensions are way off, the table is wider and shorter than it is listed, the table was as hard as a rock, the vinyl covering is very cheap and thin and tears very easily, the plastic prongs that held the face cradle in the table snapped off, I could go on but those were the main problems. If this is a home use only table, a table for a student or maybe someone whose not clear of their career path it is fine but it is not meant for professional use. I did not keep the table. 05/04/2011
Needs a little extra cushioning! We purchased this table for our own private use in our home and we are very happy with it. I agree with all the reviews that have been written so far. It's amazingly lightweight and extremely sturdy! (Easily holds both of us!) But I also agree with the person who said it was uncomfortable! If you like a hard, firm surface that feels like you're laying on plywood, you'll probably like this table just the way it comes. But we thought it was way too hard to be comfortable! Fortunately, it was an easy fix. I just added extra cushioning until we got it the way we wanted it. (Which might be something you'd have to do, no matter which table you purchased.) I put a thermal blanket on the table and then put the fleece table warmer on top of that. Finally, I added a twin-size memory foam topper (purchased at my local Walmart) and it did the trick! We now have a table that's firm enough for massage yet comfortable enough to fall asleep on! The memory foam topper is a few inches wider than the table top but I left it that way. It provides a wider sleep surface (multi-tasking furniture!) and it makes the twin-size fitted sheet fit really nicely. Putting the memory foam topper on top of the table warmer does not interfere with the table getting warm. It's very cozy! We leave the table up all the time. But to dress it when we're not using it, I purchased a king-size Vellux blanket from Walmart.com which worked perfectly to cover it. It hangs down almost to the floor on both sides (shorter on the ends) and it looks really nice. They have improved the face cradle cushion. The surface that touches the face now slopes down towards the center so they've eliminated the uncomfortable square edges someone else mentioned. Even still, I wasn't that impressed with the face cradle setup. (See the other reviews.) We removed the face cradle and the hanging arm rest altogether and just use pillows to cushion the face. We might put it back someday, though. I think the bottom line is that a professional masseuse would probably not pick this table. You can certainly spend a lot more money on them! But it's a great table if you're home users like we are! And for the price, it's at least a good place to start. 01/19/2011
