Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film based on the legendary Marvel Super Hero "Iron Man", reuniting director Jon Favreau and Oscar(R) nominee Robert Downey Jr. In "Iron Man 2", the world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark is the armored Super Hero Iron Man. Under pressure from the government, the press and the public to share his technology with the military, Tony is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind the Iron Man armor because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. Its my opinion that Ironman 2 has it all. Great acting great action and the adding of Sam Rockwell was a definite plus. You have to take in account that this movie is trying to do something new and that is build up for the avengers which they do a good job here. The only downfall to this movie was the whiplash character (which I didnt like so much)and the character change (Cheadle as war machine). Overall a must buy!

I was really disappointed in this movie. I probably went in with very high expectations and left disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the graphics of the movie are great and the action was better than the first one but that is all this movie had. The first movie kept me interested and that is what I look for in a movie. This one didn't really do that for me. My GF and I went and watched it at the theatres and she really isn't into these kinds of movies at all but she knew that I wanted to see it so she gave in and we went. After the movie, she of course said that it was dumb and in a way, I agreed. She was shocked by me saying that. i don't think that the parts that they were trying to be funny in or trying to make some kind of joke, were really that funny. Some parts, you could actually see coming and others you wish they just left out. If they do come out with a 3rd one, I would wait tell I could rent it. I might actually not watch. Of course though this is my opinion and you need to make your own. I would just suggest, rent it and don't just go out and buy it.

Grew up with Iron Man and Marvel Comics

There are lots of holes in the flow of this movie, especially if you watch it more than once. With that being said, I really didn't care, cause the computer generated graphics were awesome, the plot kept moving, and I hated to see the credits start running at the end. Speaking of the credits, be sure to watch past the credits as there is a sequence that gives a clue as to who the new Marvel character will be in the next movie. If you are an old comic book reader then this is a must view. My imagination was never this good way back in the 70's and it's nice to sit back, relax and let someone else's imagination entertain you for 90 minutes or so.

This is the Blu-ray and DVD pack, which allows for me to play the movie at home and on the go on my laptop. There isn't anymore to say if you like the movie. I think IRONMAN ONE was better, as it is often the case with sequels, but it was not too bad. I would have been happy just renting it but my wife wanted to own it. That is why I bought this pack. Walmart had a better price than Best Buy. Also, the ship to store allowed for free shipping, although it was heavily delayed due to the snow storm in Pennsylvania.

why blue ray doesn't come in fullscreen and only widescreen i have a 62'' hd tv and i like to enjoy to the full?
by an anonymous customer 7/26/2010

  • A. Widescreen is how the picture was originally filmed. The older full screen format was modified to fit 4:3 television sets. The advantage of widescreen is that the whole image can be shown. In 4:3 fullscreen the editors had to use a technique called "pan & scan" that didn't provide an ideal view of certain scenes in movies. Your 62" HD TV should have a cinema option that allows you to zoom your image if you are interested in removing the black bars.

  • A. Full screen is a ripoff for the consumer. Movies are filmed in a widescreen format. When a movie is released in "full screen", up to 30% of the movie is cut off (15% on each side) to fill the TV screen. Watch two movies side by side and you will notice (or not because you cannot see it) details that are missing from the full screen format. In one full screen movie experience, I watched the main character shoot one bad guy, turn, and shoot at empty air. In the widescreen format, you can see 2 bad guys standing there and now it makes sense. Yes, the pictures seems bigger, but you are missing the details from the bigger picture. Use your zoom function to cut off the edges for a similar full screen effect.

  • A. When you say full screen are you talking about filling up a 16:9 aspect ratio screen or the old 4:3 aspect ratio screen? The Blu-Ray of Ironman 2 is in 2.35:1 ratio so it isn't going even fill up a 16:9 aspect ratio screen, it's going to have bars on the top and bottom. Movie theatre screens are usually 2.35:1.

  • A. The widescreen 16:9 format is the industry chosen format for FullHD (1080p). Putting a 1080p blu-ray disc in any other format is a massive step backwards in quality and experience.

  • A. Widescreen provides you the full view of the movie whereas fullscreen the sides of the movie are cut (imagine putting blinders on) you're only see part of the picture and not the whole.

  • A. Full-screen conversion sacrifices almost a third of the original cinematography - the sides are dramatically clipped and you won't see many important characters or scenery. If you want to see the movie as it appeared in theaters, you have to learn to appreciate letterbox (wide-screen) format. Happy viewing!

  • A. Widescreen is the standard format for high definition. Regular DVD are still available in Widescreen and Full Screen presentations. Full Screen is misleading, as it stretches out the image to 'fill up' your TV screen. By doing so, you see less of what is going on in the movie. Widescreen is the presentation that the filmmaker intended, and while it may leave black bars at the top and bottom of your screen, it is the identical format to when you saw Iron Man 2 at the movie theater :)

  • A. A fullscreen version would be a croped or zoomed image. With your HDTV you will have the option of changing your aspect ratio to "zoom in" and fill the screen and still have the option of watching the film in the same widescreen view the director intended.Wide screen versions are better, they give you more options.

The combo pack includes the same disc, plus a special features disc and a code to download a digital version from the Web (installed directly on your PC or Mac). The digital version can only be seen on your computer. I hope that helps. Good luck!
