Measurements will vary based on customers inflation. Airbeds are measured from the widest point including the beams (bulges) on the side and off the tallest point from the floor including built-in pillows if applicable

Let me first say that INTEX is one of the top brands for air mattresses. I have a very bad back and found that sleeping on a conventional mattress is no longer an option for me. I need SUPER DUPER firm and I can get that with an air mattress. I can control the amount of air/firmness exactly to fit my back. The box arrived with free shipping from fed ex in 4 days. It was very heavy and I knew I didn't want to have to lug it up my stairs, so I opted for the free delivery. It inflated in about 5 minutes. To those who gave negative reviews due to mattress loosing air, may I suggest you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY! It CLEARLY says you must make SURE the valve is in the CLOSED position BEFORE you start to inflate. If you do not do this, it will loose brainer, right? I sleep with it directly on the carpet. I put a feather bed (mid weight) on the mattress BEFORE I put sheets on. This will keep you from feeling the "ridges". You can also use a couple thick blankets before sheets. I love this! I only buy INTEX. Stay away from COLMAN. They are garbage. My last INTEX lasted 18 months and it was the cheaper version of this one. I sleep on it every night and I am NOT a skinny minnie. Make sure you buy deep pocket sheets that will accomidate up to an 18" mattress. You will LOVE this product!

    Best bed I ever owned!

I'm 62 yrs young, had 3 back surgeries, hip surgery, and many medical issues. Since I have had this bed, I sleep better, no flopping around, and wake not sore! Through the years, I've tried them all! All regular beds, and hurt with them all. I should've tried this years ago (32 yrs#, and could've saved a ton of money. I highly, highly, highly recommend this bed to everyone! Look at the cost! Try it as a spare bed, and you'll probably get rid of your "normal" bed! This bed is awesome, inexpensive, uses fitted sheets, and high enough #20") I can get out without any help! If I have a bad day, I re-adjust the air, and snore away. No worn "dip" in the bed, no sagging springs, just even soft pressure for support! I can't say enough about this bed.

    airbed has come very far

    Customer review by yakitori

wow. this airbed has made me changed the way i look at airbeds. the only experience i've had i bought a cheap airbed (don't remember which brand) some ten years ago, and i had to use it for about a week when i moved to a different state, until my furniture arrived. and that airbed (i remember it was sick green) was really uncomfortable, no matter which direction i laid down on it. it never felt quite "full" and it was very squishy. my back hurt and i generally felt tired the more i used it. i was really glad when my own bed finally arrived with the moving truck. so many years later, from recommendations from other people, i decided to try a higher end bed for our guests to use. but when this airbed arrived, i had to try it for myself. it actually feels like a real bed. i can roll around in it quite a bit, but it retains its firmness in different positions. nothing like the old airbed i had a long time ago. (sadly, it feels even better than our bed my wife and i sleep on right now, which i'm planning to replace real soon.) looking at other people's reviews, there might be some durability issues, so i'll try to remember to give this review an update after few months. but so far, so good.

    • Hello, Yes, you may use a hand pump to inflate this mattress. Thank you and have a great day.

    • You can use a hand pump, but it takes a lot of air, so that would take a long time. You can use a battery powered pump/blower/vacuum or one that plugs into an automobile cigarette lighter.

    • It has a built in pump so you must have power, and it sits 20 inches so you would have to have a high tent as well.

    • You need power for this. Hand pump won't work.

    • You have to get an attachment to fit the inflate/exhaust port just right in order to pump it up manually. I wouldn't recommend it, however, because even with the electric pump, it takes about 3-4 minutes to fully inflate. If you plan to spend about 20-30 minutes with a handpump, you might get it inflated enough to sleep on. Best bet is to buy a power converter for your car to be able to plug your sleeping bag into. They cost anywhere from $20-$200 depending on your power consumption needs. This is a good one, with 300W, you should be able to power anything you need (just don't throw a power strip on it and plug in multiple devices).

    • This can be inflated with a manual pump.

    • If electrical power is not available then any Intex inflation pump (manual, battery, DC…etc) can be connected to the control dial valve for inflation. Turn the control dial clockwise until the arrow points to the inflation mark. Insert the air pump nozzle into the control dial value to inflate.

    • You need a power souce. I would suggest to get AC adapter for your car as it takes just a few minutes to inflate

Hi! I love air mattresses but the problem is fitted sheets don't stay on because there is usually no place for the sheet to 'fit around' or tuck into. Even deep pocket sheets are defeated. HOWEVER, in the picture it looks as if this has a significant division between top and bottom half.... will fitted sheets tuck into this division? We have a 4inch topper for our bed as well. If I put the topper on the bed, how deep should a sheet be to fit the 4inch topper and top half of mattress? Thanks!!!!!!!
    by GratefulGussy 11/22/2013
    • The maximum height of the top layer is about 11," so with a 4" topper you'd need about 15" to reach the division and enough extra to tuck it in. There's about 4" depth between the layers to allow room to tuck the sheet in.

    • Hi GratefulGussy, If you haven't already figured this out by purchasing the mattress, it will hold onto the sheet perfectly. There is about a 2-3in deep separation all around the mattress, and the sheets fit in there nicely. In addition, the surface of the bed holds onto the sheets well, and doesn't let it slide around.

    • My Fitted Sheets, Fit and stay right in place on this Air Bed. Yes there is a cap for the sheets to fix in. The INTEX Supreme Air Bed looks like a Box spring and mattress set. The bed is actual 20" tall. Dragoni

    • Yes, the Intex Supreme Air-Flow Airbed has a division between the top and bottom. It's approximately 1.5" deep and will allow for sheets to be easily tucked in. Airbed sizes and standard box spring mattress sizes are not the same. Airbed sizes are smaller in dimension so standard mattress sheets will always fit loosely on an airbed.

    • I had no problem putting fitted sheets on this bed. The fitted sheets had some room left over which makes me think that you might be able to put a four inch topper on the bed. However, I'm not sure since we didn't do that.
