LOVE IT - Water is Krystal Clear I bought this system at the end of last summer on clearance to use the following year on our 18' x 4' Intex pool. I've had a pool all my life and have owned a couple different Intex pools over the past 7 years which require a little more wrestling with chemicals than the hardwalled above ground pools. Was a bit skeptical and concerned I'd waste my money since I wouldn't be able to return after so much time passed. Filled the pool, added 100 lbs of purified salt (at $9 for 40 lbs), and held our breath... fearing we'd have to drain the pool if it didn't work. I followed the directions and waited a day to allow the salt to completely dissolve before turning the system on. Based on our actual gallons in the pool, programmed the system to run 5 hours then hit boost to bring up the chlorine level. I tested the water every day for about a week and now test once or twice a week. It's been 4 weeks and haven't looked back since - I mean really... we've added NO chemicals... no PH +/-, no shock, no alkalinity +/-. When they say Krystal Clear.... they mean Krystal Clear. Normally by now, we have cloudy or green water at least once and have spent countless hours adding and adjusting chemicals to get it back to clear. Our water has never looked this good and the kids love it. the salt water doesn't irritate their eyes like the regular chlorinated pools. I love this system - it makes pool maintenance a breeze. One thing to note, be sure to read the directions thoroughly. Had I not read the directions I would have missed that the level of chlorine should only be between .4 and 1.5 instead of the normal 1 - 3 ppm. I highly recommend this product. 07/05/2011
Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater Water system I think this works very well! You have to follow all the instructions as with any unit.We do not have to add anything but salt to the pool and it keeps the water very clear.We purchased the Intex sand filter to hook up to it and that works awesome too, no more buying paper filters! 07/06/2011
I am going on my third year using this salt water system. I love it! Before getting this system, I couldn't keep the water in the pool clear. Now, I run it about six hours a day and my pool water is clear and clean. I have saved a lot of money on chemicals. The only cleaning I do is vacuuming the bottom of the pool. The cost to run the system is worth it. 07/06/2011
this is great! i have a 27 x52 round pool, i had to add 560 lbs of salt,,at first wasnt clearing water, i tested water and it was very low in alkaline, i added a tub of alkaline to it, and pushed the boost button and in 2 days it was crystal clear!!! it was very very green to start with,,that has been over a month ago and i havent had to add nothing to it,,,i think the key to it is that boost button, it is like a shock...downside is, you do have to keep it running, but saving alot of money in chemicals, and my water is crystal clear!! love it 07/06/2011
