    Great Pool

    Customer review by CAMCampMom

    5.0 stars by CAMCampMom

This is our second summer with this pool. I didn't use the pump/filter because I had another more powerful one that I had just bought for another pool the year before so I can't vouch for that but a friend who bought it from me said it worked good on his pool but his was smaller. The pool itself is awesome. Where we live it is considered a kiddie pool so there are no permits required and no changes to taxes or insurance. Pool is very sturdy but be sure you have the ground as close to perfectly level as is possible, close won't cut it. We built a square frame of 2x4s 1 foot larger than the pool, leveled the wooden frame with a transit until it was within 1/4" of level and screened in a 1" layer of sand packing it down with water and screening again. We covered the sand with a weed cloth and a tarp before setting the pool. This portion is very time consuming and a lot of work but if you skimp you will regret it later. Actually putting the pool together only takes about an hour if you've never done it before. If you've put up this kind of pool before you can probably do it in 30 minutes. When you start to fill it with water put about an inch or two in the bottom and turn the water off. Get in the pool on your hands and knees and starting in the middle push all of the wrinkles out to the side. This is another place not to skimp, if you miss a wrinkle you will be able to see it and feel it and it will hold dirt. When you're sure you have all of then wrinkles out then finish filling the pool. If you take the time to set your pool up right you will not be disappointed. Another hint, when you fill your pool use lots of black water hose laid in the sun and it will warm the water several degrees before it goes into the pool. The ladder that comes with the pool is good enough for starters but after a year or two it will rust and you will want to replace it. We are building a deck around the outside and have wedding cake pool steps we got from a friend for the inside. We also bought the saltwater chlorinator which is awesome. For this size pool we run the sand pump 24/7 (we have lots of trees nearby) and have the saltwater chlorinator set to come on for 12 hours every 24 hours. With this routine the pool is almost maintenance free. I backflush our pump every few weeks and if I notice the water getting the least bit cloudy or greenish (usually because I turned the chlorinator off to backflush the pump and forgot to turn it back on) I mix one envelope of shock in some water and dump it in the pool and it's clear again within a few hours. Easiest to maintain pool we've ever had. I have three children and they use the pool for several hours every day during the summer. This pool is big enough for them to each have a friend over and still have room. In the winter after the leaves have fallen, I just shut off the valves that come with the pool to stop the flow to the pump and drain the sand pump. I disconnect the saltwater chlorinator and take it in the garage but leave the sand pump out all winter. In the spring when we're done with freezing temps I close the drain on the pump, reconnect the chlorinator, open the valves to let the water through and turn the pump back on. Shock it two days in a row and vacuum out any leaves and wait on the sun to warm it back up. Before we got this pool we had a smaller version that we had bought used from a friend who had also bought it used. That one was used for at least 6 summers before the salt started to corrode the poles. Liner was still good but we wanted a bigger one so I bought a new one. I expect to get at least a few more years out of this one and when it is time to retire it I will buy another one just like it. I haven't noticed any corrosion on my poles yet and this is the second summer.

My husband and I purchased this pool 2 weeks ago- awesome pool for the value. Looked around at many different places- this seem the best overall value for the price. My best friend has the smaller version have had it up for 4 yrs- no problems. The sand filter pump is sooo great, also comes with skimmer, volleyball net and also a real vacuum- not those cheap ones. What else could you ask for at that price!!!!

Fairly simple to put together. Its a big bowl shaped bladder that is made of a rubber like matierial with a cloth weave through it. Very tuff for the thickness of it. The top ring and legs keep it in posistion well. Just get out the wrinkles and fill her up. Sand filter pump seems to catch the bugs and small particles good and is cleanable with a backflush setting , so your not buying filters all the time.
