Rated 5 out of 5★ by kayceeDC Great bed for the money As the previous reviewer pointed out, the description of this bed is inaccurate in that it states it has wooden support slats when it really has a metal grid base. However, the metal base has not been a problem at all. The bed does not squeak and is sturdy, yet light. It was extremely easy to put together. The picture doesn't show it, but there are are three support feet down the middle of the bed in addition to the four corner feet. You do not need a box spring and the bed is pretty high with just a mattress. The base of the bed where you lay the mattress is about a foot high and then with my pillow top mattress the total height of the bed is around 25 inches high. The finish of the bed is a glossy, very white metal. If I have one complaint it is that the finish is so white it almost has a blue tinge to it, which makes it a little difficult to match the bed to other furniture. I ended up getting white wood nightstands and the white on the nightstands does not match the white on the bed perfectly, but it goes together well enough. You really can't beat the price for this bed. West Elm has a similar style that sells for around six hundred or more for the headboard and bed, plus around another hundred for delivery. We picked up the bed for free from Walmart and it easily fit in a mid-size SUV. 03/26/2013

I was concerned about buying a bed with the wire mesh since other reviews stated it would sqeak. I purchased this for a rental and since I already recycled the box so it would fit in my car, I could not return. We will not have to get plywood to lay on the wire mesh in hopes to prevent sqeaks. I like the styling of the bed, but I am very disappointed that I did not receive what was described. 07/17/2012
