I have a big cd collection and the regular cd cases are hard to find the sli cases are popular but the orginal cd cases are the best because you can put the art work inside of them you dont have the room in the slim cases.

I was unable to find these anywhere and was told by store clerks that only the thin ones were now available. Since we have a large CD collection I needed the regular size. Was able to find them on Walmart's site, as usual, since they can always be depended upon to carry hard to find items. Thanks.

    • Yes. The insert is easily removed with an xacto knife, or similar.

    • Yes, very easily without breakage!!

    • No, not in what I purchased. I was replacing 10 CD cases that need to be replaced. My problem was that I could not reinstall the paper inserts that face out the back and the sides because the CD holder is part of a two piece case, not the three piece cases that I was replacing. As a result, I am saving the back paper pieces from six CD cases. These paper pieces also label the sides of the case. The cases are no longer broken, but they are not perfect either.

    • Yes you can. I posted I broke one trying. My own fault. There are two tiny push in tabs on the sides. If you push them in with a pen tip they open easily. As someone else said: Don't just rip them out like I did! :)

    • Yes they can.

    • Yes. Do so very gently and carefully -- use a letter opener or small knife, insert it along the seam where the plastic holding the disc meets the case -- and go slow so you don't crack the plastic. Warning, however: doing this leaves an open gap on the left side of the front of the case. If you are a scrapbooker do NOT put tiny items in a case with the plastic middle insert removed. Larger items would be okay; try it and just see what you think would fall out, for what you intend to store in it. The insert snaps back easily if you want to put it back in.

    • What you see is just paper inserted in the jewel case for advertising. I just bought six 10 packs. These cases are very well made. I've seen others that are very light weight and break easy. These cases are very sturdy. I will buy these again in the future.

I recently purchased empty cd jewel cases from 2 different places, and both times they each had a dot surrounded by a small circle(in the center of the right hand side in front and the center of the left hand side on back) very visible on both the top and bottom plates from the hole where the plastic was injected into the mold to create the piece. The hole where the plastic is injected into the mold of the top and bottom pieces is usually on an edge, or in a corner where it can't be seen, but these imperfections were in plain site. I need to find cases that have no visual imperfections. Do these cases have a visual injection site mark on them? (Like the dot with a small circle around it.) Thank you for your time.
    by vinylsam 6/13/2012
    • vinylsam, the pack I received do have the marks on the front and back of the case so it must be common with these aftermarket jewel cases if you experienced the same problem from 2 different places (assuming you bought at least one different brand)

    • Yes, in the same location you describe. However, it is so unobtrusive that I had to look on my cases to find it. I had not noticed it before.
