this is one of the best movies ever made. Hollywood does not make movies of this caliber anymore. A must have to keep in your movie collection. Deals with race relations in a poignant, well written way, the acting is superb!

The DVD contained the original version and the later colored version of the film. This is one of my favorites!

Classic

I'm a huge fan of these movies. They are both heartwarming and heartbreaking. My all time favorite movies. They have very similar story lines but yet each draw you in for a different reason, either the characters or the messages. Beautiful movies.

Unbelievable

Both movies excellent. I perfer the 1934 version. More heartfelt, not as glitzy as the 1934. Both worth watching %26 comparing.

I purchased the Imitation of Life special edition as a gift for a friend who loves this old movie. The set was only $5.00 and it included both { the black and white and the color versions} The color version alone is $9.98, so it was a great value. I paid postage but that was only $2 and some change. The package arrived super quick and I was pleased with the purchase.

2 set dvd

I always loved this movie, my mom is 90 yrs old and she loves the first one in 1934  she was 9 yrs old when it was released.  She has fond memories. I can relate  to the 1959 version even though it was 2 years before I was born.  Both films are great.

The movie wsscso heart warming. I feel like parents should sit down with their kids, and grasp the realness of just what this younglady felt about her heritage.

I didn't realize this was 2 different movies, was pleasantly surprised! Glad I acquired this excellent movie.

Two for One

One of my favorite movies! 
I have yet to view it, but pray that it meets my expectations. The back cover/label is torn on the back side (underneath the plastic jacket, I might add)...this leads me to question the "newness" of the dvds. Also, WHERE IS THE DIGITAL COPY!? 3 stars because of this. It did arrive 2 days before expected, so kudos for that.

Great Movie, But I Have Issues Here

The movie is great for the price. Two for one deal, no beating that! I brought it as a gift for my mom because it is her favorite movie. The only thing I didn't like was it came late. It said it would be here between September 24th thru 28th but it didn't come until October 4th.That's almost a week late. I really wanted it by September 30th that's what made me order it because it said it would be here at least two days before I needed it. But it didn't so I had to give it as a late gift. If it had came on time I would have rated 5stars all the way!
