    • A. No. You can load 3 slides at a time into the frame holder and then you slide the frame holder into the machine stopping at each slide to scan it. The scanned picture of each slide is saved on the SD card which you can later load onto your computer.

    • A. No, not at all. The slides (as is, and up to 3 at a time) are fitted into a slide carrier. It is very quick and easy. The slide carrier is used to hold the individual slides in the correct position. The same holds true for the separate film carrier, should you want to scan your film negatives.

    • A. SCAdian, there is no need to cut anything, they fit pretty well, it might happen that you will see a tiny portion of the white cardboard around the pic on the deck's frame, if that matters to you, just use scissors to have all the area of your pic in the frame.

    • A. There is plenty of room to thread the film. I didn't have to cut anything or take anything off to lay them in the tray. There is extra room on the top and bottom to fit the film that may have extra paper attached. You must use the plastic trays to insert negatives into the machine. It is actually very easy to use and you can scan lots of negatives. It takes longer to organize the strips than it does to scan them.

    • A. The film carrier is made to hold 35mm film strips up to 6 frames long. The openings are too large for 110 film, BUT if you are creative and careful, you can try to attach the 110 film to something that will securely hold the 110 film in the carrier. I would test it first using a scrap piece of 110 film to make sure your modification doesn't damage the negative. I would try cutting an opening the size of the film you want to scan in a piece of paper or thin plastic about the same thickness as 35mm film. If you are unsure, don't attempt this adaptation, any damage to the film negative will be most certainly irreparable.

I opened the box and within 3-4 minutes was scanning the first 3 slides. It was easy to do and the pictures are turning out great. I have it attached to the computer and have to "export" after every 11 slides. Not a big deal because then I take the time to label what the pictures are with the dates from the slides. I love the little LCD screen. It helps me view what the slide is. It comes with two slide trays and two negative trays. I have not tried the negatives but am thrilled with the slides. I have a couple hundred slides to do and this little device is worth the money and easy to do it yourself.

I bought this unit for slides that I wanted to convert to digital and then put on a DVD/CD. The images from the scans were so poor that at first I thought it was because of the age of the slides. I took several of those same slides to a Walgreens photo lab and the results were outstanding. There was nothing wrong with the slides. The images reproduced by the photo lab were clean and crisp. This unit, in my opinion, is a piece of junk, period. I wondered why would any one sell something like this at any price. I say, Stay away from it if you want good, quality reproductions. I beleive this machine is incapable of delivering them. I was a line process camera operator for 20 years. I converted many continuous tone images into half tone (digital) imagery so I know what poor imagery is when I see it.

This scanner works great. It is easy to use. I looked at several scanners and was impressed with the 9 megapixel/7200dpi. The scans are clear and crisp as the originals. The trays are easy to work with. I only wish they made a 110 size tray. I like the 32sd card capability. Not all scanners will except the larger cards. It comes in handy if you have a lot to scan like me.

Just as easy to use as a digital camera, just load the slides and center in the screen and then press the button, that's all there is to it. I was scanning 100 slides in about 40 minutes.

I ordered this little scanner as a means of converting my slides into a digital format. I worked with high end scanners as a Graphic Designer. So, I had no expectations of getting any where near the same quality. I just need good scans. Out of the box, I was excited by how incredibly easy getting started was. I hooked the USB cable directly to my computer and downloaded after every 3 scans just so I wouldn't encounter any memory issues...WRONG. For no apparent reason, the scanner gave me the dreaded 'Memory Full - Please download or delete images'. I checked to see if I had failed to delete the images after downloading ( shows empty ). Still followed the manufacturer instructions to manually delete image to no avail. Screen says 'No Image' but still says 'Memory Full'. This is not the time for a near $100 purchase to not work but it appear that is the case...I'm racing the clock to complete an application for a position that requires a digital portfolio. Last observation - I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS SCANNER TO MY WORST ENEMY. Save your money, buy something else.

This scanner is very easy to use. After a quick reading of instructions I was able to use the scanner. This scanner is a good buy if you are not worried about the quality of the picture. The quality of the scan is not as sharp as I would like, but it serves its purpose of preserving my slides. If you need a sharp picture I would suggest a more expensive model. However, if you just want a digital copy of an old slide and are not worried about having a sharp copy this will do just fine.

After all these years I actually thought I had found something that I could transfer all my old slides from the '70s to my external hard drive..I knew the quality wouldn't be what I wanted but I gambled..This is merely a camera in a box that takes images of your slides that are being back lit by a bright light..And there is no adjusting the internal light..If you were one f-stop overexposed when you initially took the photo it will turn out too bright..A perfectly exposed slide turns out fair..Even one that is underexposed one or two f-stops will still turn out decent..All in all if you just want to preserve some memories this will suffice..but it isn't really good for much else such as making greeting cards or any type of photo project..

The 35 mm film and slide scanner does a nice job on slides that are over 30 years old. It does not degrade, but seems to improve the picture definition even on pictures made with cameras that were not as refined as those available today. The 9 magapixel and 7200 dpi must help. We have done nearly 800 slides and are very pleased with the scanner. Many more to scan.
